As for that life being closer to Anjali...i wouldn't make that assumption...though it may be true. But i don't like the fact that you are constantly attirbuting Anjali's acting ablitiy to her real life being like Rani's. She may be from a small town but i dont' think you should disregard her acting skills. What impressed me was not her acting in the regular "school girl wanting to study further" type of scns. It was that single moment of brilliance where her ability to bring out exactly the emotions that should be on Rani's face at the moment her mother decided to end her education and set her up for a life of homemaking. It was shock that her mother had spoken such a thing, she hadn't trusted her maybe, and hurt of shattered dreams. It takes skills to bring that out instantly and so brilliantly.
Hey JC, I apologize if anyway your sentiments are hurt by my comments. I, in no way, want to disregard Anjali's acting skills. I know acting is not easy. If I am given I wont be able to utter a single word properly leave alone emotions and expressions. I have felt and accepted many times that Anjali is a good actress. The scene which you have mentioned, I have not seen but various other places she has shown mixed emotions very well, like the ones Anvi mentioned in her post and I really appreciated Anjali in those scenes. Whatever I said was my observation and what I felt actually. I may very well be wrong.
One more thing i would like to say that, if an actor is playing a role which is very near to his/her real life obviously he/she will be quite natural. In that case they go more inside the character and play it very well. I have often heard actors saying that in few cases they were really not acting, they were simply doing what they are in real life. So, i think, there is nothing like that an actor becomes inferior or his/her acting skills are questioned.
I think truth be told, the creatives have a lot to answer for. It is them who mould the characters in this way. They need to bring some more dimensions to both Yudi & Rani. Enough already of the shy damsel and the shirtless prince. I have no doubt that both Kapil & Anjali are up to the task of portraying more than they have done so far. I hope they are given the opportunity to do so.
I agree with Nisha. I think it's the fault of creatives that they are not able to exploit the potentials of actors. We have been noticing it since long, they cling to one thing and don't leave it until and unless it converts into an overplayed record.
