Part 1
'Mr Walia, tell us more about this huge project?' a reporter asked.
Jai Walia, the man of any women's dream. He just smiled as questions were bombarded at him one after the other. Finally when silence could be heard he started to speak.
'This project was my father's dream, which I am fulfilling. But not only my hand is in this, my best friend and fellow co-worker has helped me immensely and deserves equal credit, Prem Dixit'
The conference continued for another hour or so, when Jai and Prem finally got the chance to leave. Both were walking to Jai black Mercedes with accomplished looks on there faces.
Jai: Aaj baba ka sapna pura hogaya. (Today dads dream was fulfilled)
Prem: Hain feels good man.
Jai: Yeah it does, chalo, I will drop you home.
Both got in the car, and Jai drove off at full speed. Half-way into the journey, Prem started to speak.
Prem: Oh shit. Jai maine toh Bani ko college se pick karna tha. Ek kaam kar, tu college ke taraf ja. (Go towards the college.)
Jai laughed laughs at how forgetful his friend is but told him he was going to college anyway to pick Sahil and Anu up. On hearing the name of Anu, Prem blushed. He had a secret crush on Anu, but didn't say anything as he thought Jai would mind. He had met them both a lot. Shaking his head he pushed the thought out. Bani, however had never met Jai or vice versa, but Jai had heard a lot about her from Prem when he talks about his 'gudia.'
Jai and Prem arrived at the college early, so were both leaning against the car in shades and black suits. Every passing girl was drooling over them both. Soon Sahil arrived.
Sahil: Hey brothers. (He calls Prem bahi for respect and Jai also thinks him as a brother.) Jai bahi, I am going to a party at my friends, will be back soon. Please?
Jai firstly didn't agree but let him go on the agreement he would be back by midnight. Sahil hugged Jai and left.
Another half an hour passes but there was no sign of Anu or Bani. Rano had passed, and Prem asked were Bani was, but Rano left saying she had not seen her all day. Deciding to look for them both headed towards the back of college. Screaming for them they heard no reply. They kept walking until soft little muffles could be heard. They followed the noise, until they reached a dark alley way and the sight shocked them.
Anu and Bani had been tied back to back on a chair, with there mouths closed. Surrounding them were four gundi with baseball bats. They were all passing on dirty comments to them. Bani and Anu were struggling to get free.
Jai told Prem to get on the other side so they both could see one girl each. Co-incidentally Jai was opposite Bani, and Prem opposite Anu. Both signalled them not to talk. Slowly walking up to the gundi, they started tot thrash them. In under a couple of minutes all four were on the floor, bleeding badly. Both ran up to there sister and started to un-tie them.
Anu and Bani got up and hugged there big brothers.
Prem: Gudia, tum tik ho, kuch kiya toh nahin naa? (Are you ok, they didn't do anything did they?)
Bani being in a shock dint say anything, except hug Prem. Anu started to answer his question, still holding onto her Jai bahi.
Anu: Nahin, they didn't do anything, just scared us a bit.
Jai: But how did this happen?
Anu: Me and Bani are in the same art class and met today, we were walking out of college when these guys came and forced us to come here. You came on time or god knows what would have happened.
The three continued talking while Bani was mute. She was looking toward Jai when she saw one of they guys get up and walk toward Jai with a glass rod. No one could see except Bani. Bani suddenly let go of Prem and ran and pushed Jai out the way causing the rod to smash against Bani shoulder slitting it. Bani screamed in pain, whilst Jai started to beat the life out of the guy. For some reason, he felt the pain when Bani was hurt. He kicked and punched until he heard Prem say to him help and get Bani to hospital. Jai kicked the guy for the final time making him fall unconscious.
He ran back and saw Bani bleeding badly. Not knowing what to do he picked her up in his arms as Prem was in no stated to do so and ran towards the car, with Anu following and Prem looking half dead.
Jai sped to hospital, and reached in record time. In the hospital, the doctors pushed her in to get checked up.
Prem was crying uncontrollably. Jai walked up to him and comforted him.
Prem: Jai, meri gudia teek hojaygee naa. Woh meri choti si gudia hain. kuch nahin hona chain hain usko. (My sisters going to fine na? Shes my little sister, nothing should happen to her.)
Jai didn't know what to say, and just nodded. It was because of him that Bani was hurt.
Walking towards Anu he sat down besides her, who rested her head on his shoulder.
Anu: Bahi, ek din mein kinta hogaya, Bani subah mile, hum ache dost bane, aur abb woh hospital mein. Aur Bani app ki best friend ki behn thi. (In one day so much happened, I met Bani this morning, we became good friends, and know she's in hospital. And Bani turned out to be Your best friend's sister.)
Jai just comforted his sister. Inside he was crying as well. He got up walked to the room Bani was being checked in. Seeing her lying lifeless on the bed made his heart ache.
What was happening to him?
Why was he feeling like this?
He just continued at stare at Bani.

Doctor: Her shoulder was slit pretty bad, We may have to operate on it. Please think about it quickly and sign on this form.
The doctor left the form on the table which was in front of Jai and Prem who looked shocked and didn't know what to do.
