After praising Sanjay Dutt to the skies, Ekta Kapoor has gone ahead and dumped him. According to reports, the Balaji head honcho has now gone ahead and teamed up with Sanju's one-time best friend, Sanjay Gupta.
It seems that Ekta was not very happy with the manner in which the partnership with Popcorn was working. She was reported to be extremely unhappy with the way their two films, Mission Istanbul and EMI shaped up. Both were colossal flops. She had also signed a Rs 250 crore deal with Sanju, wherein they were to make ten films over a period of four years. But as none of the films has been launched so far, that deal is also reportedly off. Now Ekta has found a fresh partner in Sanjay Gupta. The collaborated earlier in Shootout At Lokhandwala. This time they will be producing three films next year. It seems that even though Ekta and Gupta had gone their separate way professionally, they had still remained friends. That has worked in favour of their partnership. Gupta is believed to have said that both he and Ekta have similar views on films. So here's to a new partnership.
