Zarina Wahab, who shone along with Kamal Hassan as tragic lovers in that blockbuster Madanolsavam, is making a comeback to Malayalam with Calendar playing Navya Nair's mom. Zarina the Bollywood actress has done some of the most memorable movies in Bollywood like Basu Chatterjee's lovable Chitchor with Amol Palekar, Bhimsigh's Gharonda again with Amol Palekar. This Telugu Muslim from Vishakapatanam has done quite a few movies in Malayalam like- Chamaram, Palangal. Later she married Aditya Pancholi and survived a troubled marriage. They have a daughter Sania and son Sooraj. She has also done a lot of successful television serials.
Now 30 years after doing her last Malayalam film she is playing a character called Thangam Phillip a widowed Professor, whose daughter Kochu Rani played by Navya Nair meets a guy (Pritviraj), who makes a difference in their lives. The film is directed by debutant Mahesh.
