A lovely interview of Juhi's on her career
'When I took the plunge 8 years back, it wasn't as easy'
Publication: Times Of India Jaipur; Date:2008 Aug 12; Section:Special Report; Page Number: 34

Jaipur was never a hinderance for Juhi Parmar's career. Today she enjoys tremendous support from people who once opposed her

Shweta Thakur

As far as, my family is concerned I have been very lucky. My parents are very open-minded and I have always got their unrelenting support. But not everyone around me was happy with my decision. For a girl to not just step out of home, but to shift base to another city, all on her own, just for the sake of a career wasn't really heard of in Rajasthan at that time. But I was sure of what I wanted to do, and with my parents supporting me, I didn't look back.

I remember eight years back when I had taken a plunge into the TV industry it wasn't very easy to make a mark because TV wasn't very big that time. I am sure it must have been much tougher for those, who had tried their luck before us. If one wanted to pursue her career as an actor there were films, while the TV only offered weekly serials. But with the television industry witnessing a boom, numerous channels mushroomed up and new avenues have opened for the young brigade of Rajasthan, who wants to make it big in the world of glamour. TV offers a great platform especially for girls since they are featured in a respectable manner ' they

can choose not to expose. And their families can feel contented with the kind of work they do.
For the youngsters of Rajasthan, what has worked in their favour, is the fact that many people from the state have made their fortunes in Mumbai and they have role models to look up to.

Also the advent of reality shows has brought the world of glamour closer to the average Rajasthani parent, who now looks at a career in acting, music or dance as a viable option. Now, whenever I go home, I get overwhelming response from the same people who years back thought that my decision would ruin my life. Even as I stand vindicated, I feel that the younger ones today have it a lot easier.

Juhi is so grounded to her roots that the pride in which she mentions Jaipur and the importance in her life can be reflected so well in her interviews

She is even getting married in Jaipur now
Really a hard and long journey in her career.
her interview is so much of a motivation for individuals who have second thoughts on how to proceed to fulfill their dreams
