Vipul Shah opts for Aishwarya over Kat opposite Akshay Kumar in "Action Replay"
This is a pair which has rarely been seen together. They were last seen together in Khakee directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, which was some four years ago. Yes, we are talking about the King of the box office, Akshay Kumar and Most Beautiful, Aishwarya Rai. Trust producer-director Vipul Shah to get them together again after so many years.
Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will team up again in the forthcoming film Action Replay. They last came together for Rajkumar Santoshi's Khakee, which released over four years back, where Aish played a negative character. Arjun Rampal has also been signed for this Vipul Shah project. The team will begin shooting in February next year.
'Action Replay' is a period movie, a set replicating Bombay city in the 1950's will be set up in Karjat for the movie. The female leading role in 'Action Replay' requires a very strong performer hence Vipul opted for Ash over Kat.
The insider adds, "Action Replay will combine a contemporary setting with a period look where Mumbai of the 1950s will be recreated. Nitin Desai will do the set design. He will replicate the time period by constructing roads, cars and houses over six acres of land in his Karjat studio."
*********Aishwarya, who is currently shooting for Mani Ratnam's 'Ravan' with Abhishek and a Tamil film with Rajnikant outside Mumbai, was in the city to attend a promotional event of an international watch company for which she is the brand ambassador.
When quizzed about her future projects, the actress said she had signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film with Hrithik Roshan and is doing the film with Vipul Shah.After she signed the dotted lines, Akshay personally thanked her for accepting the role. Now in 2009, Aish will be seen with four Hottest men of Bollywood Hrithik, Akshay, Abhishek & John.....It looks like her career is in great form after marriage.
