Sonali the cause for low vote bank for girls!

for me i seriously feel that sonali is making a clown of herself when she says "this time a girl will win." like a stuck record everytime a girl sings irrespective of the quality..

when tullika said "kaithee paheli hai ye kaithee" in kaisi paheli hai ye kaisi sonali said it.

when bhavya sang nasally, she said it..

in my opinion its a silly strategy of fighting chauvanism with exteme feminism.

I can't even vote anyways...so I picked none..but I like Sonali

u may like her but if she stopped patronizing the female contestants so much perhaps they would get decent votes.

yeah rite tullika is miserable..

her sur is bad and her voice isn't anything great either.. but mohit and that army jawaan could have gone before her.

I feel somehow to become a pop icon, you need to have a brilliant voice and performance ability and also attitude and sex appeal. Cmon we are talking about the likes of Shakira, Rihanna, Alish chinoy.

Somehow I feel the girls are lacking the confidence and attitude to give a bindaas performance, and I feel sourabhi is the complete package.

Here's the deal Joe. Its true that male contestants get more votes because of the crazy female fan following that could care less about the actual singing as long as the guy is hawt. Now, its also true that due to the social customs in India, females don't come out and audition as much, so talent is also lost there. Now, I will say that females are sometimes extremely talented and are voted off earlier in place of a mediocre male singer who might have the looks. However, if all the competition was done fairly, I personally feel that there's always a male that's better than the female who should take the crown. Now, that in no way indicates that the crown is given to the right person.

Some examples:

II3: Deepali should've stayed longer, instead of some of the guys that did stay (ie Parleen) ---and she could've made it to the finale, but that in no way indicates that she should've won. Amit Paul should've won. (I know you disagree, but I could care less right, I'm on a roll here 😛)

SRGMP C-07: Poonam could've most definitely come into the finals, but should she have won? Nah ... Amanat Ali was far far better than her. But does that mean that he won --- no it doesn't.

Now --- I agree with you completely --- Sonali's so-called feministic propaganda is like a record player. It gets annoying and is actually demeaning the credibility of the female contestants. Shouldn't their singing be enough to prove their talent?

The best singer should win --- no matter what these judges think.
But again, that doesn't mean the best singer will win.

Um, what she is doing is hardly anything new. Annu Malek or however he spells his name did the same thing during season 2 with his overzealous promotion of Antara (though I did like her alot by the way) during Indian Idol 2. He was all like a girl is going to win this year. It is hardly anything new, really. Javed overdid it with Ankita last year. Sonali likes Shini so she supports her alot.
