Rajeev has a tremendous talent, but he has not been fortunate enough to get any guidance or training. Unlike the Devinder Bhajee of Last years Indian Idol, Rajeev does understand and admit that he does not get correct notes many times. Yet he has not been riding the just the sympathy wave, but because he has some charm about his voice. What I did not like is the fact that lately many people have inadvertantly hurt this man's feelings. First was Leela Bhansali, who remarked that "When you go back to Chamba, implying that he is not a material for staying back in Bombay. Then it was Shreya, who just commented that "You cook very well======etc, and treated him like a domestic servant. She could have atleast commented on his capability as a singer, whether positive or negative. But taliking about his cooking-----------sensitive people don't do that. You can never predict destiny. You never know he may get a good song and winn a national award, the way Kunal Ganjawala did. The worst was by shaan, who commented on his singing twice very adversely. One he introduced him as "Cook with a new look". This was offensive and not in a good taste. The last one was during the vedict of Trishanku, where he again pointed out for the publics knowledge, the words to effect that he is not good but some how he is carrying on. I wish people are sensitive to the feelings of a person who is struggling on his own, in this ocean called "Music industry of Bombay".

I am also not suggesting that he is in any way more deserving than any of the other remaining contestants. All I am asking is that people commenting should be sensitive the feelings of a human being.

One more issue. These children frmo middle class families from all over the country, have been exposed to a great emminence and glamour. How will they will cope with the situation, when they go back their real life. In this regards, I feel, Sony is doing a lot for their runers up, by giving them slots in their various programs and by organizing concerts for them. I urge upon Zee TV and shri Gajendra Singh to organize a nationwide concert with all the artistes, who have been ousted from the competetion, but were liked by their mentors and the public. I am talking about people like Sunanda, Sharib, Raktima and Sanchalini. Please do some thing to keep these young talents going, and they should not end up as psychiatric patients.

Very well written. I agree with you on all the points.

I agree with you regarding Rajeev, although I have not been a great fan of his, it saddens me to hear such comments. Kudos to him for coming thus far, I hope he gets some training and comes back with a bang!!

Don't compare Rajeev with Devinder of Indian Idol. Rajeev is much much better than him. But the problem is because of his lack of any training he is doing badly. He actually is singing bad for past few episodes.

That was very nicely said, Inderuma. i think a lot of people agree with you but are afraid to speak up due to all the Rajiv-bashing that goes on here.
I think Rajiv is a good singer for someone who has no training whatsoever. Of course he is not in the same league as most of the others who do have proper training, but he has a decent voice and can go very far if he takes training. I think he has the basics down pat and just needs constant practice and the guidance of a guru (not a mentor, a real musical guru). I would like to see anyone who makes fun of him on this forum get up on stage and sing in front of thousands of people. It takes guts and he has really put himself on the line. I wish Rajiv all the success in the world after he leaves the show. May he find his manzil someday.
Your comment about most of the kids being from middle class families, etc. was also very good. A well thought-out post. 👏
