Part 16

as she heard this, her lips curved in a huge smile.. she freed her wrist from his grip nd he smiled back nd let her go.. then she ran downstairs nd he just watched her go away.. then, he got ready jaldi se nd came down to see anjali with his mom.. they were both talking.. he came to them..

Adi - sorry to disturb u ladies, but I think we're running late.. hai na, anji..?

Anji - yea.. we are.. let's go..

Adi's mom – nah.. no one's going without the breakfast..

Adi – momm.. please.. we'll have something in the canteen..

Adi's mom – nah.. NOT AT ALL.. it wud be better if u both dun argue over THIS.. u know, I won't spare u..

Adi – ohkk.. chalo anji, we'll HAVE to have breakfast..

They both have breakfast nd finally leave for the college.. as they get in the canteen, they found aditi, yuvi and Raj already there waiting for the two of them..

Raj – kahaan the??!

Aditi – watz this anji, hume jaldi bulake aap khud late.. not fair..

Anji – sorry guys.. chalo, to the point.. it's ashi's b'day today nd we're giving her a surprise..

Raj – wow.. great idea..

Anji – thanks.. so, I've planned a few things at velas beach.. but for the rest I need you all..

Aditi – sure..

As they finalized the plan, they all came out of the cafeteria.. accordingly, aditi and yuvi were meant to keep ashi busy while raj, adi and anji were to set all the arrangements at the venue.. as ashi joined all of them in front of the college, they all wished her happy birthday.. nd informed her that they were bunking college that day except anji who promised to join after college.. she agreed happily.. aditi nd yuvi took her for shopping while anji told that she was running late for her classes.. raj said that he had to go to receive a cousin at the airport.. nd adi, to see his mom for something important.. ashi was so very excited that she didn't notice the big loop hole of how come anji wasn't celebrating the day with her.. then, finally the five of them drove off to the places concerned to execute the plan..

as the three of them reached the venue, raj nd adi couldn't help getting impressed by anji's beautiful choice of venue.. 'twas a beautiful hall, at the l'll distance from the shore; all deserted excpet for a few ppl.. as they stopped in front of the main hall, anji stepped out to the manager's cabin to confirm the details while the boys planned other stuff like cuisine and music..

As the evening approached, all was set.. all perfect.. as anjali wanted.. adi was relli shocked to see the way she was looking at all the arrangements.. she even shouted on two-three people there to put it all the best they cud.. raj was one of her targets, his only "BIGG" mistake being that he shifted a table by a few centimeters away from where it should have been.. 'strange..' he thought.. 'she was always sincere but today she's being so adamant... have never seen this side of her.. never mind; she's cute anyway..' he smiled on himself, his eyes set on her face..he was fully occupied by his work.. 99% of staring and 1% of what he was actually supposed to do..

Finally, 'twas 8:00..

"hey guys…take ur positions..!! ashi will be here in 5 minutes.. " Raj said this and quickly turned off the lights..

On the other side.. In the car, Ashi was being difficult..

Ashi –" I will kill the 3 of them…all of them promised that they will be back on time..pata nahi kahan hai..?? they r not even attending my calls..this is not fair.."

Aditi-"Ashi yaar…kuch important kaam aagaya hoga"

Yuvi-"Yup yaar..don't be angry at them"

Ashi-"plzz…now you 2 be on my side..don't try to defend them.."

Aditi – "heyy.. we aren't defending them.. itz just something too genuine.."

Ashi – "aha..?? the three of my best friends aren't here for my b'day.. nd the rest of my best friends taking their side.."

Yuvi – "nopes ashi.. nothing like that.."

Ashi – "ohh please..!! anyways, hume pohochne mein aur kitna time lagega..?"

Yuvi – "just 5 minutes dear.. aur apna mood theek kijiye.."

Ashi – "yea.. I understand.. now, forget all this.. by the way, hum dinner karne itna door kyu jaa rahe hain..?"

Aditi – "awaii.. itz a beautiful.. I came with my cousins here last week, so just thought you all wud love it.. nd I thought this was a perfect day.. hai na??"

Ashi forgot all her rage, her cheeks going all red.. "aww.. thanq.."

Aditi – "aha…!! Did I just hear 'THANQ..?'"

Ashi – "ohkk… sorry sorry.. I shudn't hv shouted on you two.."

Yuvi – "chalo gals.. not more of this senti stuff.. we're here"

The three of them came out of the car, mesmerized by the beauty around.. as they entered the hall, the lights flashed all of sudden, when all the people in jumped on ashi to wish her…the first of them was anji…

"Ohh..sorry yaar…tujhe itna pareshan kiya…BUT surprise dena tha na.."

Ashi – "yea yea.. I'm actually surprised.."

Anji – "good good.." she said placing a sweet kiss on her cheek and hugging her tight..

Raj – "side please anji.. we also deserve a minute with the b'day gal.."

They parted from what seemed to be an ever lasting hug, both smiling.. everyone else wished her too.. And then yuvi brought a huge chocolate cake which was placed in the centre of the hall…Ashi blew the candles and cut the cake.. as all of them loaded her with presents, music began to play.. this took all of them to the dance floor.. they had a great time dancing, and as the music became softer, it gradually turned from a group dance to a couple dance.. as adi took ashi for a dance, aditi joined yuvi and raj, another gal.. as a song finished, ashi whispered to adi, "ask anji for a dance.."..

Adi – "naa.. u're the budday gal, rite??"

Ashi – "so wat?? She's standing all alone there.. go nd ask her.."

Adi – "nd you..??"

Ashi caught hold of raj, who was going to fetch a drink.. "he's there na.. now u go to her.."

Raj stood there mouth opened, all confused, while adi gave his cute smile to ashi nd went to anji..

Raj – "ye kya tha??"

Ashi – "kuch nhi.. u're my new partner.." she said with a grin..

Raj – "huh..?? I dun wanna dance with you.. I HAVE a partner.."

Ashi – "aha..?? shut up, leave her.. u're dancing with me.. samjhe??"

Raj – "ye kya baat hui yaar.. wo to aaj aapka b'day hai isliye main kar lunga.. by the way, aajkal aapko main itna pasand aa raha hoon kya??" he said with a smug..

Ashi – "ha ha.. itna khush mat ho.. itz for them.."

She said pointing at the place where anji was standing a minute b4, but now 'twas empty.. nd neither adi could be seen around.. she got it all and a smile flashed off her.. she joined raj at the dance floor..

5 minutes back**

as adi walked to anji to take her for the dance, he noticed her slipping out the hall.. he tried to drag her attention, running after her calling her name; but she couldn't hear because of the loud music.. the two had got out and thatz why ashi couldn't find them..

anjali started walking tracing the shore.. adi didn't call her again, he simply followed her; one, to see what she was upto.. nd two, simply cuz he liked watching her that.. she kept on walking along the shore, the cold water touching her bare feet.. as she travelled back in time in her mind, she felt a hand clutching hers.. she turned in a reflex to see adi walking with her.. she looked at him.. nd he stared back.. both held it for a while when adi spoke, "why did you leave the party..??".. she replied, "nah.. nothing as such.."

adi – "are u sure..??"

anji – "yea yea.. jus came out to hv a look.. itz so beautiful here na?"

adi – "yep..indeed.. u know wat?? the party's great.."

anji – "hey thanks to u all.. I hope ashi's enjoying.."

adi – "yepp.. she is.. she's relli relli happy.."

she stopped walking, all of a sudden.. he stopped as well, facing her.. she took his hand in hers and lowered her eyes as she felt his eyes on herself.. nd said, "thank you adi.. thank you for being there.." he could say nothing over it; just kept looking at her.. she lifted her face up, to stare in those deep black eyes that weaved magic.. adi said – "do you actually think we need words like 'thank you'..??" before letting her answer, he wrapped her in his arms.. she hugged him back.. his hands slid through her hair gently.. as seconds slipped by, she parted herself but didn't walked away.. he blew at her face gently, making her close her eyes.. he watched her for a while; then he placed his hand over her waist.. this send a shiver down her spine but she remained silent.. he tightened his grip over her and pushed her closer.. she didn't protest.. as the cold wind passed; her hair flew off her shoulder.. he touched her neckline with his lips which made her shiver.. she stood still as his lips traced her neck moving to the jaw line.. wen they could no longer take it, he came closer to her, closer than ever; placing his lips over hers.. it started raining just then.. as they broke the kiss, they were all wet.. anjali was blushing big time nd adi was smiling her favorite smile.. they both started walking to the hall, hands in hands..
