I know kat has faced a lot of flak about her acting talents, but I liked her performance in yuvraaj. Even though she could improve a little, her presence has felt on screen and she looked stunning. A lot people have criticized her, but I think she deserves some credit for her experimenting her look and taking on a new role. Don't get me wrong, she has a long way to go, but let's give her some credit!

I agree with you. She is certainly one actress who is aware of what she needs to improve in order to succeed, and the success that she has achieved so far has not gone to her head at all - she is very grounded and clear about her career and position in the industry.
At least she has bothered to learn to speak and read hindi - and her dialogue delivery is actually better than some other indian born newcomers.
She wasn't fantastic in Yuvvraaj (i think she was better in Namaste London), but you can see the improvement of her expressions and confidence in front of the camera.
She needs to take a break from the big commerical films, and do some more serious/intense films.

I think people judge her on the basis of her glamorous image and don't take into account her actural acting. Even when she is actaully acting people don't think it's good enough, I reckon for ehr to prove anything she'll i have to do some really challenging role, such a disabled charcter, but then people will compare her to Rani and so on.
~ Anyway, I remember 'Hum..' with Akki, she actually acted in that film, the trust me scene was really good and the shaadi climax, but people forgot that because the film was a flop(it was dead boring) and because she never looked back and keeps doing these commercial blockbusters people think she can't act. Quite sad really..
~Anyway, she might not be good as the extablished actresses but I think she's better then some.

I quite liked the 1940s look on her...if she didn't do something different people would just criticise her for not experimenting and changing her hair etc. Poor girl can't win either way LOL

I find it quite disgusting when people bash her just because she was born and brought up outside of india, and because hindi isn't her mother tongue.....why not celebrate and applaud her effort and commitment to try and improve her skills, instead of just looking at her as an outsider.
