Hey
I have been thinking about this since i watched fashion ALOT for some reason so thought make a post be interesting to see what people say.
This goes not just for modelling world but the acting i would say as well..it showed drug-taking, sleeping around and the casting couch (Well if you can call it that by which i mean come ons). Also the people that you see on the way to the top on the way back down again only difference is they are not with you.
HOWEVER i was thinking why is this really so shocking or the big deal. I am not saying it is right, but i mean that its hardly breaking news. Is this stuff not around in any jobs and society anyways.
Mean in the UK anyways they always go on about peer pressure lol and getting influenced by other people in smoking and drinking (which is kind of what happened to priyankas character). Are these things different for any job or anywhere. There will always be people ready to take advantage and to come onto you, and different pressures everywhere in society is it not down to you what route you take and choose.
I do not get why its made a big deal of in bollywood it was amrita rao who said this line in a interview when asked and i was like you go girl lol because i totally agree with her 'no one can make you do anything you do not want to'.
What do you guys think this was just my point of view and what i kept coming back to more i thought about it (Work was that boring lol had nothing much to do obviously 😆😆😆)
Keep this on topic please i am having a nightmare just thinking about what direction this might go on and no actors affairs please this is purely about industry as a whole.

I agree with you on this. No one can make you do what you dont want to do and that is why several talented but principled women fail to make it to the top since they are unwilling to compromise and succumb to the pressures of the directors and producers.

Case in point being Gracy Singh. She had the talent. She was there in two critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies, yet the last of her I heard was that she's doing some c grade bhojpuri movie. Nope, no one can make you do what you don't want to. But if you don't do what the "high and mighty" of bollywood want you to do, you lag behind and considerably at that. Also, not everyone is strong enough to resist temptation when success seems just a minute away. I mean...its a well known fact Priety slept with Shekhar kapur and got casted in Tara rum pum...or whatever it was titled at that time.....but the irony, it got shelved....lol.😆 Anyways today she is almost a "has been" successful actress gone parallel while dating a business scion. Go figure. I guess if you can live with it and sleep at night without any guilt more power to you.
It ain't my cup of tea, but to each his own.
And BTW, Ektas_angel, this is a controversial topic and affairs will come up. So you might want to close the topic if you can't handle the sh*t that might fly soon.😆

Firstly well written and said but i was thinking about these actors too...even if they do sleep with these directors to get is it not the audience who decides how good they are...at the end of the day if they do gett a role and are rubbish they are not going to last long. I think that roles have alot to do with how well they do i think film wise ...maybe gracy did not get the right roles or simply was not compramising on anything. Theres only so far you can get with certain roles..
Totally agree if people can live with it its upto them..
LOL lets see how the topic goes..i can handle it if it gets out of hand dont worry..i just thought after it might go off in direction its all good so far

Yeh maybe because it looks so prefect and full of glitz that its made into a big deal but i just kept thinking tis hardly breaking news..it does happen not in just jobs anywhere.

I believe that at the end of the day it is an amalgam of appreciation from the audience and the particular actor's diligence which really makes him/her established. I don't really know much facts about the casting couch scandal(could have been true some time back but maybe a bleak possibility now due to a demand for actor's own credibility)so can't make an assertive deduction that simply the ones who don't resort to such tactics go unnoticed. Our established actors/actresses do work hard out there...We have seen Ash and Kareena on diet to lose weight for special roles and despite some people being critical of them the fact does remain that as per a majority consensus they were appreciated and same goes for SRK or Aamir-lot of commitment shown in their work...
