I think there were lot of complaints when Ronit Roy was here as Aparajit Dev - Zee used to get tons and tons of mail about how bad KS has become.

Now that he is out of here, I think things are settling down a bit.

Then there was the time when the complaints hit the sky - Pia drugged her B-i-L and even tried to kill her own sister, then there was the time Ranveer raped Rashi and there was the time the kids got murdered - great story lines and incredible plots - something that only a few people enjoyed on this forum.

PS: In fact Zee tv - customer support was so cheezed off with all this, they wanted to quit their job, all they heard were complaints, complaints and more complaints.

One more thing Shazia,

I just remembered that some one used to claim that they know a lot of people who actually are in the crew even the writers of the show -

Unfortunately, those were the guys who were sleeping on their job when Kasamh Se took the big hit -

I think that Shazia is talking about the current status of KS, the letters from the viewers read on Zee and U must be pertaining to the current KS. I'm sure KS must have got lots of letters praising it in earlier years too. As for the complaint letters, well, thats to be expected too!

I also agree that majority of the people who are on the forum did not enjoy the killings, the rapes, the sister from hell etc. I said there are a few and I have never mentioned the names...I remember telling those people who enjoyed such brutality to go and watch CID or Alfred Hitchcock movies. In fact, those very people were telling us to suck it up and take the bull and not call the channel and not put any petitions up because this is what appeals to the general mass in India.

As for the current status, I wouldn't know and I don't want to judge it - I am just saying the popularity was there from the beginning, especially during the first six months - then all hell broke loose because of bad story lines.

I think generally speaking, more channels have come up, more reality shows have come up since the last year or so - so the comparisons are not there - any one who has experience with decision support or business intelligence would know that key performance indicators are based on the variables and comparisons are done apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

I think if any one is saying that the TRPs are better than before, then they are lacking in the know how of how the reporting works. I refute the success of the show being attributed to one single variable or factor.

Dulhan and Saath Phere lost their popularity, multitude of reality shows popped up on the scene, long standing serials have come to an end redistributing the viewers, the KS writers are starting to pay a bit more attention (so it seems), people stopped caring, Meera got caught - well, I could go on and on -

Also, I don't want to state the obvious, that Zee would read negative publicity on its show - may be one or two token randomly, so it doesn't seem too subjective.
