Be it commercials, music videos or portraying different characters in dailies, feisty Delhi girl Shivani Gosain has done it all.
Shivani, who says that she is 'very tomboyish by nature', loved sports but never thought that she would face the arch lights some day. 'But while in Delhi, somebody told me that I had a pretty face and could try for music videos. That's how it all started. Today, I am happy and also very serious about acting,' she says. Shivani, who has been a part of K serials like Kesar and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and a music video for T-series, is currently doing Rubi (9X, where she plays the comical Chandni bhabhi), Kisike Nazar Na Lage on DD and as Komal ('a very filmy character') in Kumkum. 'It's fun and I don't feel bored at all, as I am playing very different roles in these dailies. And hey, I am not at all like the characters I play on screen. I mean, I can't be as talkative as Chandni bhabhi or, be filmy like Komal! But I really enjoy the jhatkas and matkas that I get to do in Rubi,' she laughs. So what's life like at the moment? 'Pretty cool. I get offers daily but am tied up with these shows. I have said no to six offers recently. I just want to do really good work, get a little settled in the industry and then go for films. I am prepared to wait for quality work,' she tells us. As a person, she is 'a very straightforward, daring, self-made person who takes her own decisions. But I do look up to my mother, who is a very strong woman.' In her spare time, she just relaxes at home or goes for long drives. 'Besides, I hit the gym whenever I get a chance,' she informs. Who is her biggest critic? 'It's my younger brother. He once told me that he loves the way I improvise in my roles, which made me feel very proud,' she says. Is it important to have a back-up? 'Oh yes! It's a tough profession and you can easily lose your way. But I am confident that I will make a mark in the industry. And though I miss Delhi a lot, Mumbai is a great place to be in as you can live your own life here,' she says. Is love on the cards for this beauty? 'I had a very bitter experience in the past and don't see myself getting into a relationship in the near future. I am very happy living my life the way it is now,' she signs off. |
