DOCTOR! 1st choice

desi parents,,,,,,,,, there 1st choice is always for their kids to become DOCTORS and nothing less than that

plz post ur views on this topic

do you agree with what they do or disagree

also what advice can you give so that the kids wont' misunderstand the parent
and the parents wont' misunderstand the kid

making the parents understand or making the kid understand what the value of being Doctor is

Yh it can't be denied that this is true but not all families are like that... I myself do want to become a Doctor but that was completely my choice... no pressure from my family... my parents actually sometimes ask are you sure this is the right choice for you... make sure you do what you enjoy etc etc... my parents aren't like wow our daughter wants to be doctor that's great... that's the best choice and she should stick to it... they have given me the complete choice as to what I want to do as a career... I have an interest on the art & design side too and they are happy with that too (to be honest my Mum is more happy about the art and design side, which may sound really shocking to some families) The final decision is to be made by me with no pressure from anyone

yeh even in my family my mother wanted me to become a doctor. but i was interested in engineering so i choosed the engineering as a carrier. on reason for this the doctors are given more respect and are more populars than other profesionals. when one goes to doctors they treat them with high regards and in one mind doctors always keep their high position. so a parents always wants there child to become a doctor. but other profession are also good. It depends on in what students interest are. Good Engineers earn a lot. Nowdays Engineering career is not regarded as good as it was regarded earlier. the only reason is opening of a lots of engineering collage in country which are producing engineers in mass. jobs being limited. there is quantity not quality. So there is more strugle in this feild. most of engineering graduates are being placed in IT sectors not in core campanies. But if one get good collage then no doubt engineering is best carrier. other carrier like hotel management, communication, journalism has also become popular in recent years and people are having good salory and luxurious life in these feilds. also there is not much comptitions in these feilds. all i can suggest choose professional carrier according to your judgement of your interest and capabilities.
