Kam Ya Zyaada, which was supposed to launch on December 5, has been postponed by a week to December 12. To be aired Monday - Wednesday at 10 pm, the show is hosted by Manoj Bajpai. To accommodate the one-hour game show, Zee has rescheduled the one-hour weekly Rabba Ishq Na Hove earlier aired on Tuesdays, 10 pm to a half hour bi-weekly on Monday and Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. Sarrkkar (orginally a daily - Monday to Friday) will now be a tri-weekly - Wednesday to Friday at 8.30 p.m. One only hopes that after all the efforts Zee is taking for its big ticket show, it delivers both TRPs and the ensuing moolah... Rakesh Sarang, who was directing the daily soap Saat Phere on Zee, has been replaced by Vijay Pandey, a veteran in the field who has, to his credit, serials like Tipu Sultan, Great Maratha, Parivartan and Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand. Pandey, who is currently also directing Miilee, is happy that he has got the opportunity to direct serials based on contrasting subjects. €œIn Miilee, injustice is being done to a chulbuli girl, while in Saat Phere, a girl is discriminated against her dark complexion.€ Handling two dailies is a cake-walk for the director as €œMiilee is on track,€ and he€™s just concentrating on Saat Phere since it is a new serial.€ Sarang, on his part, says that it was decided that he will direct only the first 16 episodes. €œI no longer want to be a technical person. I want to concentrate on screenplay which is why I am writing Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan for which I am the creative director,€ he reasons. 5000 sq ft news channel set for Kituu...
SaharaOne€™s new primetime show Kituu Sabb Jaantii Hai based on the tale of a simple mohalla girl who becomes the finest women in the competitive world of journalism, has erected a 5000 sq feet newsroom set to capture the essence and buzz of a news channel. The story will now focus on the lead protagonist Kituu€™s professional life as she takes up a job with a news channel named National News Network and the ups and downs at work front. The over one rupees crore newsroom set situated in Mumbai took 48 days to construct. Head of Programming (Fictions and Films), Kumud Choudhary says, €œThis is the first ever set of a newsroom to be created on television and it took us around 48 days to get the entire set up. The set was designed by Chokkas Bhardwaj and cost us over a crore of rupees. As most of the serial will be set at the Network office where Kituu works, it was very important to make it look authentic so that the audiences could get the feel of an actual newsroom.€ The set resembles a real news channel comprising news desks, reporting area, edit rooms, news anchoring studios etc which they have created after visiting various news channels in Mumbai and Delhi. Smart Shopping, aired on Awaaz, will have four special episodes beginning the first week of December where celebs like Pooja Bedi and Tupur Chatterjee shopping in a series called Super Shopping With Super Models. Each episode will feature a celebrity who will take viewers to their hottest shopping spots discussing what they shop for, how they haggle and most importantly whether they are smart shoppers. The show will discuss options / brands available in the market for buying similar products bought by the celebrity and will auction a product that the celebrity bought or was planning to buy in the store. Smart Shopping will also air a five episode series beginning December 26, 05 to January 1, 06. The show will cover a range of trends that spanned the whole of 2005 across different verticals. Each of the five episodes will cover one vertical ranging from travel, jewellery, electronics and other accessories. Each of the episodes will cover trends during 2005 and trends likely to follow in 2006, helping viewers make the best buys for the coming year.

Star Plus has rescheduled the telecast of KBC II because their star anchor, celluloid icon Amitabh Bachchan, is currently indisposed. From December 9, the game show will become a bi-weekly airing on Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. On Sundays, the channel will air Bachchan€™s blockbusters- Khakee, Kaante and Mrityudaata on December 11, 18 and 25 respectively. December 24 will be a special episode with the best of KBC II while the new year will be heralded with the best of KBC II€™s celebrity episodes. Amidst reports that Varun Badola wants to quit Rabba Ishq Na Hove because he is busy rehearsing for Nach Baliye comes the news that Nikhil Arya, the other hero of the serial is unhappy with the producers. Apparently, there€™s a problem with the scheduling of dates allotted by the stars. The sound recordists have often been replaced and at times the dubbing is done by somebody other than the actors. Nikhil however vouches that Aroona Irani is a sweet lady but it€™s the people under her who are creating trouble...
