At Muskaan's parents place. Rahul and Muskaan were called to come visit her parents.
They arrive and there are many festivities. When left alone Rahul and Muskaan
get into an argument as usual and are not talking. Muskaan thinks Rahul is hiding
something from her. Muskaan threatens not to eat until Rahul tells her what
his secret is.
Muskaan did not eat or drink anything for the whole day.
She almost fainted when Rahul caught her and took her to her bed
She lays down and closes her eyes and falls asleep holding Rahul's hand
He is thus forced to sit on the bed close to her
Rahul - to himself - Mujhe pata nahin tha ke Muskaan itni zidi hogi
aur sara din kuch nahin kayegi. Pagli.
He falls asleep slowly as well, as he had a long day with his own parents.
He slips into a small area of the bed right next to her still holding her hand.
In the middle of the night Muskaan stirs a little and realizes she has her
arm and leg around Rahul and he is sleeping so close to her. Instead of
moving away she actually hugs him a little. Rahul then also awakens slightly
and opens his eyes the slightest bit.
Rahul - in whispers - Muskaan. Ye kya halat kar di apni. Mein ek din jo
tere saath nahin raha.
Muskaan - in whispers - Rahul tu phir na kahin jana.
Rahul - Kabhi nahin jaoonga. I love you.
Muskaan - Main bhi.
They continue to stay in the same position with their arms around each other
and fall back to sleep.
Muskaan wakes up when the light starts seeping through the blinds. She notices
right away that she has her right arm around Rahul. She jumps up into a seated
position. Which ofcourse awakens Rahul. He realizes Muskaan is shying away
and looking in any direction but him. Rahul also sits up.
Rahul - whispering into Muskaans ear - Mein abhi aaya.
He gets up and walks out of the room. Muskaan looks around and doesn't know
what she should do. She remembers something happened last night and then thinks
of how close they were just a few minutes ago and this makes her blush.
She can't figure out if Rahul really said he loved her or she dreamt it. It
seemed so real. As she was lost in her thoughts Rahul enters with a plate of food.
He sits down beside her as she continues to look away feeling awkward.
Rahul - Ab to kha le.
Muskaan - Looks over to him on the left of her and then at the food. She just
nods her head.
Rahul - Khilahoon?
Muskaan - Hmm.
He feeds her and she taks small bites but tries not to make eye contact.
Muskaan - Tujhe bhuk nahin lagi?
Rahul - Lagi to hai.
Muskaan - To kha na.
Rahul - Khila na.
Muskaan reluctantly gives him a bite to eat. He takes the bite but then
holds her hand. He gives her hand a gentle kiss. She instinctly pulls her hand
away and gets up. Rahul has a big smile on his face.
Just then someone knocks on the door and its Muskaans mummyji.
Mum - Puttarji tusi log uthe ho ke nahin? Dher ho rahi hai. Gurdware jaana hai.
Muskaan - Ji mummyji hum tayyar ho rahe hain.
Muskaan is glad that her mother interrupted and just goes to take a shower without
looking at Rahul.
Rahul gets up and goes out and tells Muskaans mother that they should go and he
will bring her to the gurdwara as soon as they are ready.
Muskaan takes almost an hour in the shower as she is almost afraid to come out.
She continues to think what she should do or say.
She finally comes out in a simple maroon salwar suit. Rahul is just sitting on
the bed waiting for her. She is looking so fresh and pretty that he just continues
to stare. He does realize she isn't looking at him and doesn't want to make her feel
uncomfortable.
Rahul - Chalein?
Muskaan - Aur sab log kahan hain?
Rahul - Sab chale gaya.
Now definitely feeling awkward, Muskaan starts fumbling with her bag. This is the
quietest she has ever been. Rahul just says to meet him at the car.
They drive to the gurdwara in an awkward silence.
At the gurdwara she sits with her mother and aunts and sits on the guys side. The whole
time he is watching her and peeking glances to make sure she is fine. She can't help
but to do the same. They go down for langar and sit quietly barely eating.
After this, Rahul's mother who was also at the gurdwara along with his sister asked
Muskaan to come with them to go shopping for a sangeet at their place tonight. This
is why they came to Patiala to begin with. Rahul's cousin was getting married and they
were invited to the festivities.
Muskaan walks over to Rahul.
Muskaan - Rahul, main chali jaoon teri mummyji ke saath shopping karne?
She doesn't know what came over her to actually ask his permission as she usually did
whatever she wanted.
He smiled.
I am going to skip their shopping adventures as all that happened was his mother told Muskaan
that she already bought her an outfit for tonight and just wanted her to come pick out
the jewelry to go with it. Its a dark green and black outfit with a lot of glittery stuff.
They wanted to get a lot of jewelry and send her out all 'saj dhaj ke' as they never did
have a wedding and this would make up for it.
They are back at Rahul's parents place and Muskaan is getting ready for what turns out to
be more of a reception than a sangeet. Rahul has gone out with his father and will be
coming later. Shes bored without him but afraid to see him again at the same time.
Her outfit ends up being a beautiful lehenga choli which she feels uncomfortable in as the
neckline is a little low cut and her midriff is bare. She keeps trying to cover up with her
dupatta. They also make her put on mehndi.
She was finally distracted by her friends and family when everyone starts going off to the
dance floor as a couple. Shes standing alone watching everyone and starting to feel a little
envious.
She felt a breeze just then across her face blowing her hair just slightly. She looked up
in that direction and there he was. He was finally here. It felt like she was waiting him
forver. She couldn't look away as he was looking so handsome in his sports coat and dress pants.
They stared at each other across the room for a while. He could tell she had been waiting
for him with her longing look. He started walking her way and she started feeling conscious
of what she was wearing and how her hair looked. She kept trying to adjust herself when he
came up right behind her. She moved back slightly and was leaning right into him.
Rahul - whispers 'Hi' into her ear.
Muskaan - Hi.
Rahul - Sorry. Dher hogi.
Muskaan - Its ok.
Rahul - Ghuse nahin hai?
Muskaan - Nahin.
Rahul - Miss kiya?
Muskaan - Hmm. Thoda sa.
Rahul - Hmm.. Muskaan, tu.. tu bahot khubsoorat lag rahi hai.
Muskaan - Thanks. Tu bhi.. small gasp.. umm.. mera matlab .. tu bhi acha lag
raha hai. Finally turning to look into his eyes.
They were interrupted by uncles and aunts who wanted them to go dance.
Rahul - Chalein?
Muskaan just nods.
On the dance floor its a slow dance. "Hey Shona"
He held her left hand with his. And gently slid his other hand onto her bare waist. She shivered at his touch and took in a breath. She looked up into his eyes and got lost. He broked their stare and started to inch closer so they were leaning against each other with his mouth near her ear. She hears him whispering something very lightly and realizes he is singing along to the guys part of the song. Rahul - 'tum jo ghussa bhi karo tho mujhe pyar lagta hai, jaane kyun' .... 'chodho bhi ye ada, paas
aake zara, baat dil ki koi keh do na' ... 'hey shona hey shona'
With that he pulls her in even more and tightened his grip around her waist. She could feel his heart beat erratically. He gave her slight pecks on her cheek and continued moving towards her ear. Her hand moved up towards his head and in his hair. That made him go further and started moving to kiss her neck.
Muskaan finally realized what was happening and pushed him away. Rahul just looked at her shocked. She was really upset and was looking around to make sure no one saw anything and turned to leave. He tried to grab her hand but she fled getting lost in the crowd of people on the dance floor.
He looked everywhere for her. Eventually he decides to go back to his room and notices it is locked but he does have the key. (apparently the party was at rahul's parents place ... its a dream so i guess it doesn't have to make sense) He walks in sees Muskaan standing out in the terrace just looking up at the bright star filled sky.
Rahul walks into the terrace but isn't sure what to do or say. Its been the most confusing day. He does think she feels something for him but what if he is wrong. He doesn't want to mess up things any more than they are. But he can't take the way things are right now. If he says or doesanything he may risk everything. She hasn't said anything though. Shes been the most pleasant and quiet shes ever been with him and he doesn't like that one bit. He wanted his Muskaan back.
Muskaan actually feels bad for running away from Rahul. She knows he cares for her and realizes that she loves him as well. She always did but did not know what it was. She just doesn't know what to do about it. She wishes she could have stayed in the embrace they sharedwhile dancing. She felt safe there. But it was wrong especially right in front of everyone. And now she ran away. She wonders what he must be thinking with tears in her eyes.
He sees her dupatta is on the bed and she is shivering and holding her arms around herself. He picks it up and just decides to go for it. He wraps it around her and she jumps a little and gasps slightly. She turns her head the slightest and he gives her a light kiss on her head. Instead of pulling away she actually takes his hands and pulls him closer. He is shocked but incredibly happy. He thought this encounter was going to be very difficult. She leans into him and melts in his arms.
She feels nice and cool and he breaths her in taking in her scent.
Rahul - Muskaan mein.. woh.. tujhe (finding it incredibly difficult to finally say the words)
He hears her sniffle slightly. And makes her turn around and sees that she has tears going down her face.
Rahul - Ye kya? Kya hua?
She can't make eye contact. He tilts her head up and kisses away the tears as she closes her eyes. A slight smile appears on her face and she moves in to hug him. This he definitely did not expect but he is loving every moment. Hes never seen her this shy and loving.
Muskaan - (Ye mujhe kya hogaya hai? Aaj tak kisi ki bi baat par sharam nahin ayi. Kisiko dekh kar dil mein kabhi kuch hua nahin. Lekin ab...)
Rahul - Ay! Ab teek hai? Itni chipak kyun rahi hai? (now in his mast mood)
Muskaan - Rahul! (hitting his chest with her fist but not letting go for a second)
Rahul - Ok ok ab tu ye to pata.. Tu mujhse kitna pyar karti hai? (wow .. did i just say that out loud??)
Muskan - Woh.. (finally realizing what he asked) Ay.. maine kab kaha ke mein tujhse..? (trying to get out of his embrace) Tere jaise nikame se kaun pyar kar sakta hai? Teek tara baat karna bhi nahin aata. Ab chod mujhe.
Rahul - Oy! Ab to main nahin chodne wala. Yeh tujhe pehle sochna chaiye tha.
Shes still struggling to get away when he pulls her in even closer.
Muskaan - Rahul ye tu.. kya.. (looking down again as he kisses her forehead)
They completely understand each other without saying very much. It wasn't a time to discuss this but to just be in each others presence and feel the moment. But still Muskaan wants him to say it out loud so that she knows its not a dream. She also doesn't want to tell him she loves him first even though there is no longer a fear of rejection. So she decides to be abrupt and just ask him.
Muskaan - Vaise.. tumne mujhe pehle kyun nahin kaha ke tum mujhse itna pyar karte ho?
Rahul - Nahin kaha? To.. ab.. sun...le..... (stuttering.. not sure how to say everything)
Muskaan - Rehne de. Rehne de. Tujhe pyar vyar karna to aata nahin hai.
Rahul - Teri to. Nahin aata?
He finally lets her go but comes closer to her as she starts backing away and she ends up pinned against the wall.
She can't escape as he has his arms on either side of her. She turns her face slightly to the side and closes her eyes. He moves in and blows back a strand of hair from her face and kisses her cheek. She could feel his warm breath against her face. She opens her eyes and looks into his and immediately looks down but ends up staring at his lips. Suddenly he bent down and kissed her bottom lip slowly. She closed her eyes. He put his hands on her waist and she brought her arms up around his neck with her hands ruffling his hair. She was now kissing him back.
Then she realized what she had been doing. She quickly pushed him away breaking the embrace. She was looking away and was blushing immensely but he was staring right at her with a smirk on his face. She then turns to run away.
