In Kunal's office, Ali knocked the door to ask for permission to come in.
Kunal- Ali, take a seat…
Ali- Thank you sir…
Kunal- So Major Bhargav had assigned me your mentor and I am very happy to get a protogee like you. This relationship is based on trust and I want you to know that you can trust me as your friend. Whatever you will say to me, it will be remain between us forever. I am not going to share our confidential talk to anyone.
Ali- I believe you sir.
Kunal- So tell me about your family and your dreams if you are ready to share…
Ali told him about how his family members loved him very much and how he is here to fulfill his parents' dream.
Kunal was impressed by his sincerity about being a true soldier and he now believed that he would make a great solider.
On the other side, Abhimanyu was confused on how to talk to Pooja but Nandini assured him that he will do fine.
Pooja knocked on Abhi's office door
Pooja- May I come in, sir?
Abhi- Yes Pooja….
Pooja sat on the chair and before Abhi could say anything she started her conversation.
Pooja(excited)- Sir you know mera handset aap ke handset se click karega… I am so happy that mogambo chose you as my mentor… we will have a great talk time aur phir sab saath hoge to battery fully charge hi rahegi na….
Abhi- That's great!!! I am looking forward to the camp too… so I can have more talk time to know you…
Pooja- Are sir, aap bhi meri zubhan bolne lage… That's great…
Abhi realized that he talked to her in her language unknowingly and then he smiled thinking that it wasn't that difficult.
Huda was excited to meet Dr. Ritu but when he went to her office, she gave him instructions to keep his thoughts to himself as she wasn't interested to listen to his family, his bhains or his girlfriends. She also didn't talk to him much about mentorship camp either and Huda was disappointed thinking that he should switch the mentor but now Mogambo wouldn't do that for him.
Aalekh went to Captain Rajveer's room where Raj was waiting for him.
Raj offered him coffee and told him to sit on the chair so they could talk.
Raj- I am looking forward to this mentorship camp Aalekh…
Aalekh- Apun ko sirf do baat kehni hai aapse…
Raj- Go ahead…
Aalekh- Apun discipline main rahega jab tak apun ko aur apun ke dosto ko pareshaan na kare aur doosri baat apun daru ke bina so nahi sakta to apun daru ki bottle wahan pe le ke aayega…
Raj (smiled)- Iska matlab aap ne hamare liye tough time pehle se hi shuru kar diya hai…. Chalo waqt aane pe wo bhi dekh lenge…
Aalekh- Phir bhi ek baat zaroor kahega apun, mogambo ne ek acha kaam kiya jo aap ko apun ka mentor banaya…I do trust you sir and I will do whatever you say.
Raj- Yes I am really honored to know that you trust me, and I just want to share any problems anytime. I am not saying that I will solve them but I will do everything in my power to help you to solve them.
Aalekh shook his head in thanking manner and left the room. Raj was glad that even though Aalekh didn't share anything with him but he trusts Raj which was a great accomplishment for Raj in one day.
Naina was waiting for sherry since last half an hour because she got to know that Major Niar had punished her to run extra miles for commenting him about his strategy against girls.
Sherry came to her room and she looked tired and exhausted.
Naina pulled a chair for her and offered her hot tea to calm her nerves.
She strangely took the cup and gulped her tea in few seconds.
Naina- It's ok sherry, we can talk about this later if you want to rest.
Sherry- Let's get it over with ma'am… we are going on a camp and mogambo will go on his charade and then we will come back…
Naina- Sherry, mentorship camp is much more than Major Bhargav's lecture and interference. It is about trusting your teacher and confined in them about your worries, problems.
Sherry- But to build that trust, you have to be honest with each other ma'am. And how can I believe in someone and trust with my life when they are almost stranger to me. Don't get me wrong but I know you only as my teacher. If I am willing to share everything with you, will u be able to tell me everything about your life with me? I don't think so…
Sherry was about to leave when Naina stopped her.
Naina- Wait sherry, you are right. To earn someone's trust, we have to be honest with them. I want to let you know that I want to earn your trust and I will be honest with you about my life too.
She indicated sherry to lock the door and to follow her to her bed room. First sherry was confused that why Naina is being so secretive but she followed anyway.
Naina hand over a photo of an army officer to her, and Sherry looked at the photo quietly. After few minutes, she realized that who he was.
Sherry- Ma'am ye photo to captain Naveen singh Ahuluwalia ki hai…
Naina- Ye photo mere bhai Naveen ki hai… I am his sister. I know that you will not want me to be your mentor anymore after this information but I know that my brother wasn't a traitor and I am going to prove him innocent. I understand if you don't want me to be your mentor but I am also requesting you to keep this information to yourself.
Sherry looked at her for quite some time with no expression at all. Naina was not sure that what sherry was thinking.
After a while Sherry spoke…
Sherry- Does my brother know about you being Captain Naveen's sister?
Naina- Yes he does.
Sherry- I met your brother few times when Bhaiya used to come home in vacation with him and Captain Abhimanyu. He was such a sweet guy, and he brought me a white teddy bear as my birthday gift because they came once when it was my birthday. I never believed when they accused him doing something wrong you know… And I will be honored if you will become my mentor. Your secret is safe with me and I will not even tell bhaiya that you told me everything.
Naina was emotional by now because it was after such a long time she heard someone else talking about her brother so nicely besides her friends.
Naina- Thank you sherry…
Sherry- I should say thank you for trusting me enough to tell your secret ma'am. Anyways I should go or I will miss my dinner and I have to go to sleep with an empty stomach tonight.
Naina- Why don't you have dinner with me? I already cooked the dinner and I rented a movie too…
Sherry(excitedly)- sure, I hope your cooking is better than mess food… by the way which movie did you rent?
Naina- it's an English movie: National treasure- book of secrets…
Sherry- Cool, I saw the first part: National treasure… I think this will be fun too.
Naina- So put the DVD on and I will warm up the dinner.
Naina warmed up dinner. She made chili paneer curry with paratha, dal-fry, rice and rajma. Sherry smelled the food and she was already hungry. They both enjoyed the dinner and the movie.
After the movie, sherry helped Naina to clean kitchen and thanked her for dinner and left to go to her room.
She was in corridor when Raj was coming from the mess.
Raj(concerned)- Sherry, I went to mess to talk to Aalekh and he told me that you weren't in the mess for the dinner. Now Major Bhargav won't let you eat as you missed dinner time. Where were you?
Sherry(smiled)- Don't worry bhaiya, by the way did you eat?
Raj- Yes I did eat my dinner with Kunal and Shalini before but I don't want you to go to sleep on empty stomach and it's still an hour left before lights out so why don't we go outside and get some food for you.
Sherry- I already ate my dinner with Captain Naina. She is an amazing cook bhaiya…
Raj- Oh so you were there whole time… I guess it was about mentor-protogee meeting.
Sherry- Yes and it went very well. We ate dinner and watched a movie and talked. But if you really want to take me out than I won't be mind going for ice-cream as there is still time left before lights out.
Raj looked at her surprisingly as it was after such a long time when his sister was asking him to take her out for ice-cream. He remembered that she used to do that when he went back home on his holidays during his academy days. He was happy to see Sherry like this and he gladly took her out in the town for ice-cream where she ate a lot of ice-cream and she bought some sweets for her friends. Raj also bought some sweet and he dropped sherry outside the hostel gate and went to faculty quarters.
Raj knocked on the door softly waiting for the person to open the door.
Naina- Raj tum yahan?
Raj- Can I come in?
Naina- Yeah sure…
He came in and sat on the sofa while Naina sat opposite to him.
Naina- Batao Raj, Kya baat hai?
Raj took out a packet and handed it to her.
Naina- ye kya hai Raj?
Raj- Khol ke dekh lo…
Naina opened the packet and it was full of her favorite sweet "basan ke ladoo".
Naina(surprised)- What is this Raj? Do you want anything from me that you are buttering me by bringing my favorite sweets?
Raj(smiled)- No, I just want to thank you for whatever you did for Sherry. She looked the most happiest since she had been here.
Naina- I didn't do you any favor. I just did my duty as a mentor
Raj- And I won't ask you how you did that but thank you… I should go now. Enjoy your sweet and we will meet in the morning.
Naina- Good night…
Raj- Good night…
Raj smiled all the way to his room and he was genuinely happy after such a long time.
The other morning, the classes went smoothly and MB announced that they were leaving for mentorship camp the next morning at 700 hours.
Everyone prepared for the mentorship camp and assembled in the hall at 6:45 in the morning as per instructions.
