Boy casts a spell on judges

Jamshedpur, Oct. 17: After Sanchali Chatterjee making her mark at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Shraddha Das proving her mettle at Star Voice of India, it is time for Rajdeep Chatterjee to mesmerise the judges and the viewers at Indian Idol 4.

Rajdeep has made it to the gala rounds which would be telecast on Saturday at 9pm.

A sangeet prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and sangeet visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, this 17-year old has been given the yellow card to Mumbai at the audition rounds in Calcutta.

Rajdeep is among the top 30 contestants from over India and some foreign countries.

His parents are happy and proud of their son's achievement and are going all out to advertise for him.

"From the age of three, Rajdeep is devoted to music. But his love for music has never come in the way of academics and he has performed well consistently in academics also. We were sure that he would make it to one of the reality shows to prove his mettle," said the proud father Tapan Kumar Chatterjee, an employee of Tata Steel's engineering department.

However, parents of Rajdeep are worried of the votes coming in from the state and the city.

Although he has won many accolades for his talent but Rajdeep does not want to be too confident this time. He eats music, sleeps music and talks music. He is practising day in and day out so that he comes up with mind blowing performance at shoot.

"I want to keep in mind whatever my gurus have taught me. I will try my level best, the rest depends upon the people of my state. It is not the size of the state that matters but the will power of people that makes the difference. I think the people of my state would not let me down. I believe if I sing well and sing with my heart, I will get what I deserve," said Rajdeep over the phone from Mumbai.

Steel major Tata Steel is helping the city boy to weave a dream.

The company has come up with five billboards across the steel city urging people to vote for the aspirant.

Go Rajdeep! 👏 But I really wish they wouldn't get this mass voting in the middle of everything, he's so deserving without all this!
