To celebrate the great Festival of light
The sky was black as ink sprinkled with dots of twinkling stars.
The air was cool and fresh.
The festive and joyous mood of the people filled the surroundings.
Naina came out of her abode . She was adorned in the color of marital bliss- RED
Reason?
She was going to her wedding .
A wedding that will not be a social event, no priest will be there, neither any guest.
There wont be exchange of garlands , nor the seven circles around the holy fire.
There would only be the groom
And his care, love and affection that is what all a woman needs from a man
There would be desire, there would be union and the sacred promise never to forsake each other for any reason on earth
She covered herself with a dark warm cloak amd walked gently towards the cottage. It was a long way to walk from the cantonment - up the hilly roads but she never felt the hardship
Rajveer was in his best clothes that he could afford in his humble life.
He was waiting with a single lamp
The bright orange flame flickering and twisting in drifts of air
For his love to appear as a saviour following the light to his abode
He waited - to take her in, to accept her in his life, and never let her go
He would promise to be always by her side , loving her caring for her, comforting her
There Naina was in front of the house walking towards Rajveer.
On the way she dropped her cloak ....
Rajveer was dumbstruck ...
She had become more beautiful than he could remember
He held out his arms as she walked right into the embrace his desire engulfing her.
Suddenly the neighbourhood temple rang the bells and chanted the hymns ....
It was Diwali
The festival of prosperity and happiness.......
Let us wish everone the happiness and love during this festive season
Let us hope the story of Rajveer and Naina remains forever in everones heart and wish them the love and happiness they deserved
