Himess gives his own film premiere a miss
Himesh Reshammiya had expressed his unavailability yesterday to attend the premiere of his film, 'Karzzzz' today at Abu Dhabi. The reason cited was a 'Special Puja' to be held at his household.
I probed further, including talking to the motor-mouth himself and found out the reasons behind his step back.
Sources close to Himesh have told me, "Himesh has spoken to Bhushan Kumar, producer of 'Karzzzz' to excuse himself out, as it is the Karva Chauth night, and his wife like every year is keeping a fast for him.
Like the tradition, the fast is to be broken on seeing the moon and her beardo hubby's face in the evening. He wouldn't want to break this tradition that his dutiful wife has been following for many years now."
Well the world that Himesh lives in either probably doesn't allow him to take his wife along to any other country or there is no moon rise in any other country apart from India.
A very close associate of Himesh has however spilled the beans, "There were two trials of 'Karzzzz' held in the last week and reactions were not so encouraging. It is only Himesh all throughout the film right from the first frame to the last.
Considering his limited acting skills one gets really bored watching him for two and half hours (the film's running time). In the original Raj Kiran had at least a 15 minute role but Dino Morea who is reprising Raj Kiran's role is barely there beyond 5 minutes. After these trials, director Satish Kaushik too was in a little depressed mood as a lot of people came up to him and expressed honestly that it is no patch on the original and the only reason is Himesh who is too over melodramatic in the film like he is on his reality show sets."
"Himesh is smart enough to know that the Abu Dhabi audience is no fool and doesn't comprise of his die hard fans-the taxi drivers. They may literally walk out of the film or boo if bored. So to avoid this embarrassment he has taken the safe route out." the source adds.
When contacted by me, the nasal torture had another tune to sing, "I don't believe in breaking traditions. You can call me superstitious but see I got success for my acting debut film without holding its premiere."
I was expecting you to say that, thanks for not disappointing!
Himesh the first reports of the film haven't been encouraging. What do you have to say about that?
"The film is aimed at the common man, the masses and I am sure they will enjoy it the most."
Surely, that's possible when they will watch it on cable channels!
Himesh's parting golden words - "Today I heard is the auto-taxi drivers strike in Mumbai. Well I think it will be continued tomorrow as well as all of them are going to go to their nearest cinema hall and watch my film first day first show!"
Well Himesh you really live in a very different world!
