allina....jv having suffered defeat in the hands of av. had his hopes rested in the dream that one day his son will avenge him by getting to the throne defeating his enemy...av's son dharam....but step in veer...nivi's son who spoils his hopes and always proves dharam a more worthy suitor than agni that he obviously is....and all those slaps that agni receives are the outcome of his frustrations seeing that his son who he had hoped so much from is unworthy ....of his dreams...

if you followed when jv ws to be crowned....and then crowned ..even after he sat on the throne all he could think of was defeat...that both he and his son have suffered in the hands of av.....dharam and veer... it was more of satisfaction of proving his own worth to himself rather than to others...that was pleasing him then....dv killed also ensures his son getting the throne...now that there is no competition... ufff....in short....... back then he wanted to crown agni coz he wanted to see his son do hat what he could not ...but now that all those who could pose threat to his and his son's reaching the crown are out of their way...he wants to live his dream....which surely will now pass on only to his son....in time to come
