" I believe in never being tied down by anything"

There are times in all our lives, when we desire the need for divine intervention; times, when life refuses to acknowledge the seemingly obvious and decides to take refuge in a world that is far away from ours. A world that gives the body and mind the spiritual healing that it yearns for. We, at Telly Chakkar.com decided to delve deeper into the lives of our favourite stars and know a little about their lives beyond the obvious.

Rajeshwari Sachdev who has been dancing away to glory with spouse Varun Badola on Nach Baliye talks to Riya V Anandwala about spirituality.

Yes, I do!
Yes I do believe in God. I don't follow any God in particular. I believe in the power above. Every God does exist, like there are so many people, there might just be that many Gods. They all are there to help us in different ways at different time. What I believe in is that we must all respect each other's religion and never put it down.

It comes from within…
I am never tied down to anything as such. I do puja's whenever I feel like. I don't say its anything wrong as there are people who believe in it and it may give them some kind of salvation. I am a very strange believer; you may suddenly find me praying for five minutes in the middle of something. I like to light diya's every morning. Honestly speaking, I might just not do it too, because I don't feel like. And my mother- in- law does it. But I feel a few things are to be followed as a tradition.

Respect everything
I have never thought of doing any havans, because I didn't get a chance to. Actually I am from a Sikh family and my mom is an Iyer, and the commonality is that both are very cool. So I was never forced to do anything. But I never disrespect anything. If my mother in law wants to hold a puja, I am no one to refuse. And I might just participate in it too.

"I love amar chitra"
I have never ever read the Geeta. But I wish I had. The fact is that I love reading mythological books. Because every mythological book has a story and every story has a moral. Books like Amar Chitra and we do hear these stories 1000 times in our life, but the moral is very useful in our everyday existence. The give me strength every time I am in a problem and when I realise.

Emotional Happiness
I don't wear anything religious or spiritual but whenever I am travelling and staying alone in a hotel or something I carry lord Ganesha's idol or a kada or my mangal sutra which has a shivling. I believe that if we are there, spirits also exist. It is for my psychological satisfaction.
