Mihir papa turns 43

Ronit Bose Roy popularly known as Mihir of Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will be celebrating his 43rd birthday this year. So what plans does television's highest paid actor have for his special day?

"Taking some quality time out from Ronit's diligent schedule, we are going to Goa from 10th -13th and that is where we'll be celebrating his birthday," says Neelam, Ronit's wife.

So is this the surprise for hubby Ronit? "No… apart from this I'll gift him something but that's a secret!" she says.

On the personal front, Ronit owns a security agency, ACE, which provides security to top Bollywood stars and production houses. He is married to former model and TV actress Neelam Singh.

The star came to Mumbai and resided with Subhash Ghai in his early years. Roy worked with him as an assistant director. He later turned a model and did a few commercials followed by a stint as a freelance editor. Ronit also directed 25 episodes of Chitrahaar on Doordarshan.

With aspirations to pursue acting on the silver screen, Ronit made his debut in Dushmanon ka Dushman (1984) which unfortunately didn't work for him. But soon after that he made a mark in Bollywood as his next release Jaan Tere Naam (1992) was a hit. But this didn't help catapult his career as his other releases Tehkiquaat, Dosti ki Saugandh, Andha Intequam, Bomb Blast, Sainik and 15 August which released in 1993 were all flops. There after, he acted in over 30 films in 10 years which included movies like Hulchul (1995), Army (1996), Khatron ke Khiladi (2001) and many others.

Perhaps, fate had something else in store for him. He then started his acting career in the small screen where he did many television serials like Phool aur Katein (DD1), Suraag (DD1), Sssh… koi hai (Star Plus), Krishna Arjun (Star Plus), Kammal (Zee TV), Kavyanjali (Star Plus), Kehna Hai Kuch Mujh Ko (Sony), Sarkarr (Zee TV), Kasamh Se (Zee TV), Kayamath (Star Plus).

He emerged on the small screen when he was given the role of Mihir in Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Both as Mihir and Mr. Bajaj of Kasauti Zindagi Ka, Ronit shot to the top.

He joined the second season of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa as one of the contestants with Nicole Alvares as his choreographer partner. His interest in dancing drove him to participate in a dance show called Yeh Hai Jalwa where he led the team Bindaas Bosses. And most recently he has been seen as one of the judges on the dance reality show Aaja Mahi Ve on Star Plus.

Wow, and all of them have been flops except one, even in that, Vijay Arora is the hero 😲...Oh well, it happens. But he did act in many TV shows as well. He is only remembered for being Mihir and Mr. Bajaj. 😕 Thank god, something clicked for him in the end. 😃
    👏
He is turning 43, Happy birthday.
That's more than half a decade older than me. I guess pretty soon people will be calling him Uncle-ji or dada-ji - isn't that what he is known for as Mihir? This article called him papa already!! 😃

Unfortunately age discrimination hits people in the entertainment industry badly.

That is really good going :) and he looks great for his age definetly !
As for career its bettter than doing a 9-5 job hes doing something he loves and done a variety of stuff ..yep its all look atleast mihir and bajaj clicked for him just like walia did for ram and bani did for prachi because its helped them get to where they are...not everyone is destined for films and i think now industrys different in movies they make etc more scope than before i mean lots of other tv actors have tried and failed too.

Yes, I agree, looks are all in the beholder's eyes....

Looks like you are a big fan of RR - you dig him, and I think that's perfectly OK to like older men -

As for making it big, acting is a very difficult profession, today's stars are tomorrow's fallen....especially when there are hundreds of newcomers and good actors that are swamping the industry. At least he is still acting, even if they are mere screen shots every blue moon!

We definitely need B rated stars because not every one can be achieve super stardom. So I don't begrudge him clinging on....

Lol definetly if likes of brad pitt , srk etc are the older men then definetly .....anyways i was just saying for his age he looks good not that omg hes soo good looking just like i like srk but would not say hes good looking.
As for careers every actor gets older since no one is timeless and will come a time where they need to move onto different things does not mean they are only going to do a few screen shots and nor that every actor has 100s of serials ronits shows are over and hes just done a game show so i would say hes doing good.
Yes ronit may not do romancing women but hes in good shape to do plenty of other things...whatever they are. If ronits B list having got himself a name 100s of actors are B list anyways apart from a handful of people rest are B list...thats why lots of actors from TV never make it films i guess...yes prachi has one of the lucky few even other actors in ks have done films not done well.
Everyone likes different actors i guess and has their own views for the ones they like.

I would like to wish Ronit Roy a very happy 43rd birthday!

I also want to quote one of my friend's wordings here - "You are as old as you look!".

Again, I have no intention of hurting any body's feelings..please trust me on that...it is strictly my view - to me Ram Kapoor looks older than Ronit Roy may be because of Ronit's young looking physique and body-frame...BTW i do want to mention that I personally have nothing against RK and he is one of the many pleasing personalities working for KS...

I do feel that Ronit Roy has maintained himself very well over the years. I like him from the time I watched his movie - "Jaan Tere Naam"...after that I loved him as the main lead opposite Prerna in KZK (i never liked the third person in their love triangle!).

Hi Sheena...nice to see you on IF after a long time. I hope you still continue to support Obama 😊. Well, I want to say that please don't conclude from above that I like older guys because I like guys of all ages as long as they appeal to me in some way or other. List is long so can't put here.

    Thanks for sharing the article!

    Cheers!

wow.now thats shocking!! Cannot be negated because its a genuine piece of info by Aaj Tak.

Surprising that actors who manage to make it big just make a sharp turn!
I guess,at the end of the day,u just need a pleasing personality rather than just a beautiful physique!
