9 oct: big things, little things, wfp = 2 days

i was too much of a coward to watch two episodes again back to back -- i just had a feeling it would be too much to take. in any case, didn't have that much time. there was a partyto celebrate one of the gang having got a cool job offer - and there were five guys against three girls.... and no matter how much they were impressed with the treatment of the bomb blast on mkg day, it was too much to expect today. small things to be grateful for...

* little thing: it's kinda sweet how some of his children call lalitjuneja** "papa" when they are distressed? i remember kul-di going from "bauji, prem kaha hai?" to "mein nay poocha ki prem kaha hai, papa?" when laluchacha had kicked prem out of the house. now harman tells him to "please come out this silence, papa. what will we do on our own?"

(** for some reason, don't feel like calling him laluchacha anymore... 😕)

* little thing: preet is sooo ... heartbreaking. the baby in him still comes out - "my family has been standing in the queue for an hour... my father's not feeling well" when he looks like he can barely stand straight himself... poor baby. 😭 poor poor preet.

* little thing: 'kay. i wondered: where is the body being kept? has it been brought to somewhere near ludhiana? 'cause dilli to ludhiana's 7 hours by car. when did lalitjuneja land up in dilli? just wondering... don't really need to know..

* little thing: wasn't it nasty how their ability to get what they wanted done changed the moment the deputy commissioner recognises lalitjuneja? and wasn't it so desperately real? 😭 i so badly wanted to scream at the world at that moment - what about the rest of them, damn it all to heck!?! damn all of it! 😭

* little thing: 'kay, i got jolted out of the story when that guy came in with the check. 'tis true that the govt. does have these automatic compensation for victims during times of disasters. i'm not sure that the system is sooo efficient that it happens that quickly though! there's a mountain of paperwork that has to be done. it usually happens waaaaaaay after the disaster - certainly, no one comes waving a cheque when you're howling with grief over your loved one now gone. so i think that maya (maya123) was right when she remarked in one of my earlier bt,lt's -- has someone in the show's team lost someone dear in a disaster? that was such a loud and stringent and clear criticism of the heartlessness of the system -- a trite payoff for someone lost that was infinitely precious. for the poor it is a desparate need, especially if they lose their breadwinner. but for the rich? it's only a slap in the face - a taunt - a poke in the middle of a red angry wound that hasn't even begun to heal. sometimes, the system should really think before it does things like this.

but, personally? that felt too abrupt and raw to internalise as a natural flow of the story. it jarred. including the clear perfect diction of lalitjuneja's criticim -- he has lost his son, damnit! would gayatri-mom have been this articulate? losing prem hasn't made lalitjuneja quiet...

* little thing: what exactly did they show on wednesday that today gayatri-mom and the girls still hadn't heard of the news? hmmm... (no, no! it doesn't mean i'm tempted to watch the wednesday show!)

* little thing: a tv for prem's room? why??? that's where he and heer are going to be ... um ... concentrating on each other. what other entertainment would those two need??! i found that gift idea very odd! 😛

* little thing: an announcement on tv -- what a poopy way to find out that the light of your heart is dead! why oh why did no one just tell her when they found about prem's death??

(gosh! it feels so odd to write "prem's death"? isn't it odd when we the audience know one thing - ie, prem's not dead - it hasn't happened yet! - and the people in the story don't? it's sooo difficult to remember that they are seeing a different world from us... weird, man! 😛)

* teeny little prem thing: uh... prem's ... 25??! wha....?!!! when did he get his five years of experience working before he joined his family's firm? isn't he supposed to have gotten an mba??? he got the businessman of the year award just "a couple of days ago"???!!! (wasn't it at least supposed to be months?? or did i just hear it wrong?) if he's 25, just how old are harman and preet? are these two supposed to be twins??? is vitchface veera so terrible that they are breaking the law about childmarriage to palm her off to ratpal??? boy, did that announcement jar -- for a dozen different reasons!!!

* little thing: kul-di and the rest of the family finding out 'bout prem was heart-rending... actually she did a great job of acting that scene. as did the juneja men.. as we all guessed, vitchface veera did only care about prem for his money... 🤢 meher didn't quite react the way that i thought she would? she's the one who cried out for kul-di ... does heer know? why isn't meher horrified at the thought of heer-didi finding out? liked the way preet asked the kul-di husband "mom kidhar hai, yaar?" liked the way the husband's voice broke when he told preet 'bout gayatri-mom being out to buy a gift for prem..

loved the way preet went to gently tell his father that gayatri-mom wasn't at home. loved the way preet bravely says that he will take the responsibility of finding her and bringing her back - also telling her? poor darling preet - he has always been the one to protect his mother when she needed him; to stand in for his pb. 😔

* little thing: poor gayatri-mom with her head filled with prem's "jaata hoon, maa.", "is baar jaata hoon hi kehna hai." interspersed with the ridiculous announcement. 🤢 she's not going to speak now for the longest time, is she?

* little thing: i hate the way crowds of people gather in an incident on a road. but everything that the car-guys said was so true: accusing her of not looking while she is walking, accusing her of trying to trick them to giving her money. she can't see a thing, hear a thing, of the abuses they are heaping on her head... but at the end of the day, liked how they were only abusive verbally. none of them laid a finger on her.... 😕

* little thing: and if they had, they'd have had to have dealt with baby son preet! who will fight the whole damned crowd for her. whose heart, i suspect, after having broken itself on his own sorrow at losing his beloved pb, is breaking itself again for his mother's pain.

* big thing: y'know? i've always thought that gayatri-mom was more than just a little callous in how she focussed so much on prem (and maybe kul-di) and rather totally ignored her own children? i mean, no matter how much preet has been her support in the earlier episodes when she is going beserk 'bout prem, she has always ignored him. always. when harman first accused prem of stealing his inheritence and preet goes ballistic back at harman bhai. gayatri-mom slaps harman but pays no attention to preet. then, when lalitjuneja kicks prem out of the house, preet is the one to hold her as she weeps. when heer goes missing and prem goes ballistic chasing after her, gayatri-mom screams hysterically at lalitjuneja and preet supports her.

she has never even acknowledged his presence. let alone say something nice to him. do something nice for him.

for the first time, she does. she is deaf and dumb and blind to the world in her grief at losing prem. but when the baby lashes out at the crowd, hurt for his mom, her hand comes out to hold his, to stop him... this is the first time she has ever acknowledged him. him! preet! for who he is. for what he does. and he holds his mother tight - probably one of the first few times that she has mentally acknowledged him back.

and i cried and cried at that. hmm. call it weird, but that moved me unbearably...

highlight of the episode: gayatri-mom's hand holding preet back while all the while her face is as expressionless as if she were dead... 😭

wfp - stands for "waiting for prem". 2 - number of days that we had to watch kdmhmd while prem has not yet returned. 'cause when he does return, i'm going to demand that they show prem-heer kiss for everysingle day that we had to suffer this show without prem. and today, there was no heer either! exactly, when are they going to tell heer??! *grrrr*

wed epi highlight ...the mad, spinning lady was back!!!!!!! when i saw her, i was like, well....at least one of estee's want things came true..😉
she was ranting about the lost love and blah blah...i am not sure i believe her...remember her saying something along the same lines during the dargah trip..w&w...(waiting & watching...in case u were wondering)

i noticed that when he asked about his mom, his voice sounded hoarse...as if he had a huge lump in his throat...it was sad.

i spluttered tea all over my keyboard at work when i read this. and then had to hastily muffle my giggles and turned it into pretend coughs..that had guy from the next cube ask me if i was ok...🤣!! i mean seriously, these people need to get logical!!

yeah!! i was amazed at these reactions!! i think that maya person had a little more sadness than veera or meher did! witchface is true to her name! and i was surprised at meher...her first thought should have been her sister....kul-di was good...and her husbad too...harman again, pathetic!

i totally agree that this was indeed the big thing. some brilliant acting by g-mom i must say...she reacted the way i thought and expected her to, when she found out about prem...and loved the way she hold's preet's wrist...very touching i must say. i think heer will stick around to take care of g-mom now, so she can't go away to be with prem...who i think is somewhere...not dead!!

er..purely for research u see. i think this is going to take the epe/ephe level off the charts and therefore needs to be monitored carefully...😃 i am already suffering withdrawl symptoms...my mind is clear and focused and i can actually remember things...i hope prem doesn't stay away too long.........😆

Thank god! you are back. I thought we had lost you - what with no bt lt on the wed episode. i think you are waiting for prem is going clock many days. How long do you plan to keep up with it? The creatives are really pushing Prem's death in our faces. As if the ad in the paper is not enough. Just makes me wonder why the creatives are taking so much effort to show that a beloved character is dead? Next week we'll see Heer's reaction, the whole death ceremony, the week after more mourning - what after that? Maybe by November - veera's marriage would have broken off, the juneja's (still mourning) might have lost a major part of their business, Maya-harman-meher problems, Kooky aunty trying to add her own masala to things etc. And few things we are surely going to get in the coming weeks are - Lalit remembering Prem esp during business crisis, preet feeling responsible for his PB's death, heer crying for the loss of her "new life" for which she had made such grand plans (remember her scene with Prem just before he leaves for Delhi where she tells him the things she wants to do in her life - infact that's first time i have seen her being so open about things she wants to do with her life. otherwise it's more less has been whatever others want) and Gayatri mom in shock. You are right about one thing - I also got the feeling that somone from the creative team had lost a close member to one such incident. Bcoz the way they showed the functioning of the system was near perfect (for a hindi TV show). Don't you feel they are showing Preet being more responsible and tuned in to his surroundings than Harman? I think this way they are bringing Preet's character to the forefront. The whole TV in Prem's room was just to show that none of the Juneja men need to go through the trouble of telling Gaya3 the truth. Otherwise why would she go to select at TV days before the wedding and that too alone! Like someone mentioned our spinning lady - Jugni is back. She was crying for the death of a beautiful relationship (the same way she did when Heer left Prem and sits on the platform waiting for the train). She says something to the effect that now one lover will have to face life all alone and something like "jis desh mein uska dil dhakthatha woh ab pardesi ho gaya". If you go by what she said you get the feeling that Heer is going to leaving alone the rest of life. But since this a BT/Ekta show it won't happen. All her female protagnist have more than one man to support or suspect her. So heer will get one (its only a matter of time). One thing I have to hand it to the creatives is that they are still sticking close to concept of the story. They are keeping it very real - how a random act that kills one person destroys an entire family. But I am sure they'll have to change the concept and move away from the Prem and Heer are one concept soon. If they have no plans to bring back Harshad (as you may have read that he is going to be the lead in yet another intense love story- wasn't this show all abt intense love? what is ekta thinking?) and if they try to show heer married to someone else then the concept of everlasting love has gone down the drain, right? I had made a post earlier and would like to say the samething how will the show move forward without Prem? He may not be physically present but Gaya3 mom, heer, lalit and preet (now the main characters) cannot move on without thinking of him every waking minute. All preet's actions in the coming days will be bcoz of the guilt of being the one responsible for Prem's delhi trip. Heer's life is upside down bcoz of Prem's death, lalit's business and wife's mental state (i am thinking that she'll never recover from this shock) is bcoz of Prem's death. So my point is whether Prem is in the show or not his presence is definitely in. Don't you think? Whenever they show Heer - be it with someone or not you are going to think of Prem. I really dont know where they are taking the story but couple of things are for sure - Heer can't be with someone or marry someone - bcoz if she does the whole soulmate thing that we have been shown in the past 7 months is gone - just like Prem. But then if she's alive then she can't be living alone also - how many battles will she fight alone and what is the purpose of her life?I am as confused as the next person. I just hope that they bring Harshad back to the show. It really sucks without him. But must hand it to couple of actors who are still keeping the standard high. Take a bow - Aditi (heer), Sushant (preet), gaya3 (shama despande) and Lalit (depak qazir). But for how long will they be able to pull the act is a big question?

actually, ya, remember that. but there too, she pushes him off! so i really loved this scene. that one hand holding hand... hmmm! this show does powerful hand-hand chemistry, i must say! 👏

missed some of these things - 😔 but you are right: it was the preet scenes this week that brought tears to my eyes.. well, i should've expected it. preet is the one that is going to be the most effected, in every way! by his pb's death. 'cause he was the least grown up, the most fun, the most ... like us all. poor preet.

'cause prem-heer-are-one, after all... 😆w

😆 'course i remember! that was the time that i sent in my application for the job of person-who-buttons-prem's-white-shirt-for-him! i will never forget that scene... or how he looks up with those deep-deep-eyes when gayatri-mom tells him that he loves heer very much, doesn't he? *thud* forget the bare-chest - he can get me with a white-shirt-draped-over-shoulders-and-unbuttoned look any time!

i'm still not that anti-harman - i mean, harman's the guy who's always turning back for lalitjuneja. that is the relationship that has he has been shown to be closest in.
i still think this show's team are doing a brilliant job with keeping the characters true to what they were at the start, and how they have grown. totally loving this show for that. 👏

*thinking furiously* well... well. i think i get it: something like this has happened to msl herself, no? she went "mad" after her lover died? 'kay, so i think that she is just feeling a little depressed just now and not thinking right! yes. *firmly* since she is too close to the story, she is biased about the situation and not reading it right. she cannot be. *big fat frown* 'cause this is not right. 'cause prem-heer-are-one. forever.

as to heer remaining alone for the rest of her life? well, i guess this would be new for the balaji telefilms people. but this story's about prem-heer. so it's not going to be heer's fate to remain alone for the rest of her life. *more firming of my not-so-gorgeous jawline* so there.

i have trust in this team -- they've not let us down so far. they're not going to let us down now. if this were a show running for years and years, ya, they might have to let go of the concept. seems a little strange (more than!) to throw it away at this point! no?

nah! nothing as exciting as that..she was all about pyar juda ho jayega and dulhan ke aankhon me kajal lagane ke liye jagah nahin because of the tears..something along those lines. BT people are trying really had to dhool jhokofy in our eyes...me not buying this😆
