I think I read somewhere that Kush and Luv were fraternal twins, so then the wikipedia story wouldn't make sense. Kush looked like Ram while Luv looked like Sitaji.

according to VALMIKI RAMAYAN luv & kush were twins , uptill now what ever movies & tv shows ,THE news channel reports (like on star news ,aaj tak news religion based shows ,i hv seen based on RAMAYAN ,in all those ,luv-kush were twins !!!! in OLD RAMAYAN also by sagars ,luv & kush were shown as twins !!!

may b in some other versions of RAMAYAN like the jain RAMAYAN or in any other south indian version of RAMAYAN ,there are lot of un-authentic stuff written ,may b in those versions it cud hv been written tht kush was made out of clay by valmikiji !!!! earlier also we all members on this forum have had huge discussions on the topic tht there are many un-authentic versions of RAMAYAN written in diffe. languages ,so do not beleive those ,VALMIKI RAMAYAN & RAM CHARIT MANAS are the authentic sources of RAMAYAN !!!

& according to the VALMIKI RAMAYAN ,luv & kush were twins !!!!

yup Kush was elder son. the word 'Lav' means a very small fraction of time. Lav was born after kush n time gap was very small. thats why he was named Lav

To add to what Purvi has written: -

1 lav is less than 1/5 th of a second.

3 lav = 1 nimesh
3 nimesh = 1 kshan
5 kshan = 1 kaashthh
15 kaashthh = 1 laghu
15 laghu = 1 naadika(or dand)
2 naadika = 1 muhurt
6 muhurt = 1 yam
4 yam = 1 day night

The above shows that
1 day-night = 4*6*2*15*15*5*3*3 lav
Or 24 hours = 486000 lav
Or 24*3600 sec = 486000 lav
Or 1 lav = 24*3600/486000 second
= 24*36/4860 second
= 0.18 sec

This is slightly less than 0.2 sec or 1/5 sec.
