Shilpa Saklani is set to enter UTV's Shanno Ki Shaadi (Star Plus), where she will play a US-based NRI.
When contacted, Shilpa, also seen as Ganga in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, confirmed, "Yes, I am doing Shanno Ki Shaadi. I have started shooting for it. I will play Shalu, Shanno's childhood friend."
India calling
Said Nitin (executive producer for the show), "Shilpa's choice was jointly made by the production house and channel.
Shalu comes to India when she hears about Shanno's wedding. She has spent her childhood and teenage days in the US, where she was brought up by her mausi; her parents died a premature death."
Shalu's arrival in India is much awaited by Kake's mother (played by Neelu Kohli) who wants her to get married to Kake (played by Harsh Vashisht)."
Shilpa enters the show in the 19th episode, to be telecast on December 11.
