First few stanzas of this poem NIraji says that Ram n his army r unable to defeat Ravan. Ram becomes disappointed when he couldn't kill Ravan. He says in frustration :

Ram starts worshiping Ma Durga. On the first day He worships Her with steadfast mind. For five days he worships with unanswering devotion. because of constant meditation all His Kundalini Chakras starts glowing on Shashti ( sixth day) n Saptami(seventh day). He offers lotuses one by one to Ma Durga. On Ashtami (eighth day) all deities becomes stunned when they saw Ram's steadfast devotion. Lord Ram arouses above all Gods. On the midnight of Ashtami(eigth day) when Ram was in deep meditation Ma Durga takes an invisble form n takes away the last 108th flower. When Lord Ram streches his hand to take the last flower to offer it he finds it missing. He opens his eyes n finds the last flower missing. Now He cant leave his Aasana (seat) wthout completing hisTapasya nor it was possible to ask Hanumaan to bring more blue lotuses from Devidaha becoz he must complete the puja within the fixed time. Ram becomes very disspointed that he could not completed the puja n starts lamenting. Suddenly a thought comes in his mind that Mother Kaushalya used to call him Raajeev(Kamal )Nayan. He decides to offer his eye as 108th blue lotus. He aims bow n arrow toward his left eye. Ma Durga become pleased n immediately appears n hold Ram's hand to stop him from doing so.

She said, " O Purushottam u'll certainly win ' n Her power (Mahashakti) gets absorbed in Lord Ram

(Nirala ji has added some new things in this poem. this poem was published around 1936 when India's freedom struggle was going on. In this poem Niralji has equated Ram n his army with freedom fighters n Ravan n his Army with British Govt. Freedom fighter were unable to defeat Brithish Govt . so in this poem he treid to give a message to them to gather power so that they could defeat unjust Brithish rule. Power is also essential alongwith moral n ethics to win a war. He asked them to go to the extent of sacrificing their own self for victory n power.)
