Friendship

It has often been disputed among the friends as to when and how they actually met. One insists that the remarkable friendship began on the very first day of their secondary school education, whilst the other claimed that the friendship was actually struck on the second day. Whoever may be right, it was a stroke of luck and faith that these two young girls met and became lasting and true friends.

They often joke that they have known each other for more than half their lives, an assertion that proves true, since that faith-filled day when they were twelve when they met. The friendship was not instant, as both girls were vastly different from each other. One was soft-spoken whilst the other was not. One was shy whilst the other could easily make friends. However, as though their hearts were drawn together, this unlikely pair became the best of friends as years progressed. Now some fourteen years later and many memories in between, with other mutual friends falling out of their lives, their friendship has stood the test of time, with its many changes in which lesser friends would have grown apart.

Through their secondary school years, these two friends were a part of a much loved and true group of friends that can have been hoped for. The relationships developed among these friends were truly something special. Though they were close throughout their school days, they had their own interests which kept them occupied. Their friendship actually blossomed the older they got.

Two kindred souls cannot be kept from each other, and these two friends, who must have been sisters in a previous birth found their true friend in each other. After five years of school together, the friends we separated, as they went to pursue their own academic pursuits. However, their friendship seemed to grow stronger and it is oftentimes this period of the friendship that both girls seem to look back on as the cornerstone of their lasting bond.

After, the both left secondary school the friends seem to drift apart after a while, their lives leading them on different career parts, however and occasional phone call or email kept them somewhat connected. However a chance meeting two years after they had left the confines of there various secondary schools, these two friends met again and it was as though they had never been apart.

Friendship rekindled, these friends now were able to fully appreciate the beauty of such a lasting bond. Planning the wedding of one of the friends proved to be not only a daunting task, but a fun filled one when these sisters met. And the birth of a baby, brings more joy and love to add to this relationship.

At last though the friendship has grown and evolved over time. Never did these two girls ever think on that faith filled day, back when they were twelve that they would be witness to each other's lives, but destiny is strange like that. So as each young lady moves in her own part on this road of life, the one true constant in there lives would be the knowledge that just around the corner, they each have a friend.
