ill just sum up the story
rani - rich daughter of a business man who is about to go banrupt get married into a middle class family... raj is her new husband... she eventually adjusts and changes her evil saas and the rest of her inlaws. by the time things start running smoothly raj dies in a car accident by this guy name prince(who looks exactly like raj)... prince goes to give his condolances to the family, and they think raj is back he doesnt have the heart to tell them otherwise, eventually the truth comes out and rani starts to hate prince... after awhile everyone warms up to prince since he is a good guy... him and rani get married... they have a son who gets kidnapped at birth then another daughter later...pari. rani dies shortly after and tells prince to marry neha (who is evil but tricked rani into thinking she wasnt) neha has another daugther and she raises both her and pari... and she never treated pari like her own child... prince dies and all pari has left is her danima( rajs original mother... so rani was attached to) anyways... continuing on lots of unjustice was done to pari by neha, and she even had a limp when trying to save her step sister. they grow up and pari gets tricked into marrying saumya whoo is in love with someone else but because of some guruji who forcasted that his first wife would die in 40 days married pari. pari is not aware of any of this.. and the reason they specifically wanted Pari to marry saumya is because of old scores to settle with rani...**this is b/c of a Kamya... so when prince fell in love with rani he was engaged to this kamya character... but he left her for rani and she swore revenge on rani, and hated her... she was the one that had ranis son kidnapped. but to her luck... kamyas daught ishana was wed to ranis son later on! :) ...** okay so every treats pari very badly until saumyas grandpa comes into the show ... he was actually on paris side and was unaware of the 40 days thing going on and he helped create love between saumya and pari.. this is when the show got REALLLLLLLLLLLLLY GOOD!!! :) ... anyways pari found out about the 40 days, was shattered but took an oath that before she dies she will see love for her in saumyas eyes... after so much determination she accomplised this goal ... and saumya was head over heels for her! pari survived after the 40 days... and then more of saumya relatives started living with them and thats sort of where i stopped watching and paying attention till now..
so right now rani is paris adopted daughter.
shubam or w/e is the drs son who pari married after saumya died... she thought he was her son but later realized her son died at birth so did shubums real mother ...
