So, since we have established it really is Prachi Mishra in the Dasgpta household, Prachi's character has
seemingly gone through a complete 180 degree transformation. Here was a girl who would have died before indulging in any sort of PDA with her husband. Remember the Teej Pooja, when Milind grabbed hold of her and how she scared him with Baba. And Milind had enough respect for his elders to let go of her immediately. Now, she has no problems running around a house and heading off to the bedroom, when a prayer is going on with a housefull of people around. But then again this new family seem far more tolerant than Baba and Premlata would have been. What irriatated me more than anything was seeing that new mother-in-law smile indulgently at their antics and someone else praised their jodi. Fine, she acted like a giddy teenager with Neev but then she REALLY was a giddy teenager. Once she married Milind she always conducted herself in a dignified manner appropriate for her age and status in life. For the life of me I could not understand who this woman was.
And where did witty, teasing, worldly wise, Prachi come from? I'm not sure exactly what she told Proteek but it seems that she turned around his joke on him. And this was a girl who burst out in tears when her husband teased her about another woman helping him to shop (the Asta joke). A girl who was so guileless, she couldn't understand that her husband was asking her to start a family. Though to her credit she did get the 'patti' joke. 😆 And finally whatever happened to shy, reticent Prachi who would push her husband away as soon as someone calls them for breakfast. I saw giggly Prachi but I didn't see her very being very resistant until Proteek really looked like he was going to kiss her. Wow! I know five years has gone by in the series but for the viewers it was only one episode and wham bam from a shy, sweet, naive but still mature Prachi, these creative suddenly hit us with a fun loving extrovert.
Well, if Milind has to go through a reverse 180 degress turn in his personality, I don't want Devdas Milind, I don't even want to see ruthless Turkish businessman Milind. I want the chawl Milind. The one with fire in his eyes, anger in his belly and the one that let his fist thats do the talking. I don't even mind him being scruffily dressed, as long as he shows that same disdainful, contemptuous attitude. The Shahs and Shergils didn't have much answer for him, doubt the Das Guptas will. Oh hell, this leap has even brought about a 180 degree turn in my personality. I like to think of myself as a peace-loving soul but this leap has brought a very violent, blood thirsty side in me. 😆
