Storm blows Kites

The shooting schedule of Rakesh Roshan's Kites starring Hrithik, Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut has gone haywire in Mexico. The onset of Hurricane Ike that has moved past Cuba and is in the Gulf of Mexico, is the cause of this disruption.
Says a source close to the film's unit, "The cast and crew of Kites are in a fix as their shooting schedule has been disrupted indefinitely. Gearing up for the onset of the storm, the film's unit has been staying put in their respective hotels instead of being on the sets."
The film's unit has been shooting in New Mexico for the past few weeks. However, with the storm hitting the cities, our desi superhero, Hrithik Roshan's film has run into trouble. Adds the source, "This calamity has not just brought a huge setback to the project economically but has also messed up the dates of the cast and the crew. Rakesh Roshan, the producer and director of the film is contemplating moving back to Mumbai with the film's unit and continuing with the shoot at Mexico later, in better weather, though this will only add on to the budget of the film. As it is, a week's delay in the film's shoot could easily amount to a loss of Rs 1 crore."
As has been reported, the storm has already claimed 80 lives in the Caribbean, blasting Cuba, tearing down ageing buildings and wreaking havoc on tobacco fields on the western coast. Officials in Mexico are also worried that some dams could overflow. There is also a possibility of evacuation, if the Ike brings more rain.
We tried contacting Rakesh Roshan, but he remained unavailable for comment.
