Forget the Proteek-Prachi scene for a while. There may be a good explanation for it, there may not. But even there is one, the real reason I feel Michi has been compromised by this leap is because Milind can no longer be Prachi's top priority nor can he have her undivided loyalty and no longer does her duties to him as a wife come before anything else. Her loyalties is going to be divided between him and her gratitude towards Proteek (even if it's all platonic), her concern for his families' welfare is going be as much as a priority as her concern for Milind's and her duties as Milind's wife is going to be in conflict with her duties as a good Das Gupta bahu.
Prachi has been criticised a lot recently and in the past for her bad decisions and poor judgement. But no one can say she didn't put Milind first. Even during the PIM track, she put his welfare first because she truly believed he would not be able to handle Sukriti's truth. Nothing was more important than Milinds happiness and well being be it her own reputation, her family (all the bashing Alaap took), her friendship, even her own life. He always, always took precedence over everything and everyone else. She was unwavering in her loyalty, fully committed to her duties and he was seemingly her only priority. And thats way this leap could potentially kill Michi for me. Now I'm going to have to see Prachi consider someone's else happiness and wellbeing before Milinds. And that rankles more than her being over friendly with Proteek.
