One possibility is that Milind refuses to accept the fact that Prachi is dead, after the initial outburst...Perhaps he does have the nerve to take the cloth off the corpse's face [maybe even Neev might do it], and seeing the charred face, he might just refuse to accept that the woman there is Prachi....
I too want Milind to keep the hope alive in his heart that nothing can or will happen to Prachi..

This is a strong possiblity.
Based on the twist we saw with Mallika (not believing her story on reasons why Prachi left him) a twist from the creatives here wouldn't be surprising.... he refuses to believe that the dead person is Prachi. He has a strong belief that she cannot die and leave him alone in this world. They were destined to be together and he believes as strongly as Prachi (when she went to identify the corpse in the hospital) that the dead person cannot be Prachi...thus showing that their love surpasses all calamities and that they can never be seperated. This belief would pull him through for the next 4 years.
