And just incase, you thought that the show was a mere extension of 'Comedy Circus', then hold on, because the show is a brand new concept.
Sony's latest offering - 'Kaante Ki Takkar' will have the jodis of 'Comedy Circus 1' led by Archana Puran Singh Vs the jodis of 'Comedy Circus 2', led by Shekhar Suman.
The team of Archana Puran Singh will be called 'The Purans' whereas the team of Shekhar Suman will be called 'The Sumans'. The Purans comprise of Urvashi Dholakia-Shakeel Siddiqui, VIP-Swapnil Joshi, and Khayali-Karishma Tanna. The Sumans comprise of Krushna Abhishek- Sudesh Lahiri, Rajiv Nigam-Rajesh Kumar and Kamya Punjabi- Rajeev Thakur.
The vibrant Archana Puran Singh and the peppy Shekhar Suman will be seen on the judge's panel. Every week the judges and the studio audiences will nominate one jodi (with maximum marks) as the top jodi. They will be given a jeevan daan. Such a 'jodi' cannot be eliminated in the next episode and they also have the right to eliminate any one jodi among the two nominated (with least marks) in that episode.
Shruti Seth who has been hosting both the seasons of 'Comedy Circus' would be dropped. Instead Purbi Joshi has been ropped in.
Vipul Shah, the producer of the show denies the rumors floating around stating that all's not well and hunky dory between the production house and Shruti Seth. "We wanted to give a different feel to the audience. Bringing Shruti on would merely mean that it's another season of Comedy Circus. We wanted a fresh face to be associated with the show." And talking about his show, he says, "The show is going to be more aggressive and heavier as it has the finalists of 'Comedy Circus 1' and 'Comedy Circus 2'. The concept and the format is different altogether".
'Kaante Ki Takkar' will be on air from September 6.
