Friday Morning - Shriram's mom was busy praying inside the pooja room. Shri followed his mom in her prayers. They found some spiritual solace in their idol worship. After their prayers, they walked toward the dining room.

Clock showed 7:30 AM. Shri's dad was on a business call.

Shri's dad: Is it worth taking this business proposal to a Venture Capitalist (VC)?

Sowmi's side pose attracted Shri and he was curious to see her face. After a short while, Sowmi turned her face away from the window. Their eyes met for the first time and they smiled at each other.

Flight landed at the SAM International Airport, SAMCity, US.

Shriram and Sowmya took a cab and arrived at the University campus. Indian Students Association arranged for their temperorary accomodation. Shri and Sowmi gradually settled down. Shri was very supportive and protective of Sowmi. He went out of his way to help Sowmi all the times. Both had soft corner but never expressed it openly. The initial months of the first semester were challenging. As Shri and Sowmi were from Engineering background, they had a tough time understanding accounting, economics and finance subjects. They studied together and guided each other in the right track. Shri's house was just one block away from Sowmi's house. At times, Sowmi stayed at Shri's house until the wee hours of the morning to finish the class assignments. Shri used to prepare chocolate drink to keep Sowmi awake and focus on studies. Shri never allowed Sowmi to walk alone in the nights. He accompanied her whenever Sowmi stayed up late in his house.

Sowmi's innocent face, vivacious spirit and sharp intelligence made her quite popular among her desi classmates. Desi-guys called her frequently to ask subject-doubts and also to put kadalai. One of their classmates, Mr.Flirt, befriended Sowmi. Shri didn't have any respect for that guy because of his flirtatious nature. Shri and Sowmi had N number of petty fights over this but Sowmi didn't stop talking to Mr.Flirt. One fine day, Sowmi went to watch a Hindi movie at Mr.Flirt's house in the night. Shri called Sowmi every 15 mins for no reason. Sowmi was irritated (as the calls disturbed the flow of movie) and switched off her cell. Shri lost his temper, walked straight to Mr.Flirt's house and forced Sowmi to leave Mr.Flirt's house. Sowmi left Mr.Flirt's house angrily. 😡

Shri was desperate to talk to Sowmi and repeatedly dialed her cell phone but Sowmi didn't pick up any of his calls..They didn't talk for a couple of days. Shri spent restless nights thinking about the incident..Shri knew Sowmi wouldn't budge whenever she was right..Having the fault on his side, Shri decided to give up his ego and patch up with Sowmi at any cost..

Desi students planned for a get-together at Sowmi's house..It was a pot luck dinner and all desi-MBA-mates gathered together at Sowmi's house. Sowmya prepared her signature dishes - Paruppu Rasam and Drumstick Sambhar. Shri brought Veg fried rice. Majorities of their class-mates hailed from North..So, they relished South Indian dishes. During the party, Sowmi cut short the conversation with Mr.Flirt. Shri noticed this and felt very happy. Shri didn't take his eyes off Sowmi but Sowmi avoided direct eye contact with him. However, Sowmi kept a secret eye on Shri just to check whether his eyes were set on her.. 😉 Sowmi looked "Saathveegam" whereas few of the North Indian girls looked Prachothagam"..After dinner, MBA-mates convened for a round table conference discussing about the inflation, economic downturn, fed fund rate, stock markets, credit crunch, housing slump in the US..(Vetti banda vidarathila MBA makkals aa yaarum beat panna mudiyaadhu paa..hehehe..)

It was really hard for them to juggle class and part-time campus job. MBA was not an education but an experience for them. Sowmi and Shri were reading Economics lessons at Shri's house at half past 10 in the night. Sowmi absorbed the concepts of financial analysis and management with ease but couldn't grasp the concepts of economics..Shri was teaching managerial economics using supply-demand graphs..

Sowmi and Shri were left alone at Shri's room..Silence filled the room.. Sowmi and Shri, along with their family members, visited temples in Trichy..Shri and Sowmi enjoyed spending quality time with family, friends and relatives..Because of their recommendation, their friends' wedding proposal (Raghu and Arthi) progressed at a rapid rate..Raghu and Arthi planned to move to US after their marriage.
