i agree with bhavita.i too have the same explanation for why mihir is acting like this. he has decided to save further anguish for the family esp now that he knows karanis innocent and that tulsi will not let sleeping dogs lie and will inssist on getting the whole truth out.

Mihir is the killer and admits it and starts to abuse Tulsi and says that Karan is a FOOL??

Is Mihir nuts??? I think he should be hanged instead of Karan and hope that this conversation is recorded or something!!! like Mohini!!
