Plea to an Unborn Child - Poem

Baby, you are safe for now

We do not know the future though

So you need to be strong some how

For danger may await you baby

Since you're blest with lovely parents

Who'll sacrifice themselves for each other

With no thought to the consequence

Right now your beautiful mother

Is going through tremendous stress

Worrying over her hubby's well being

She's set to free him from distress

In the process she may face

The harshness of prison life

You need to be her support, Babe

Don't cave in to all this strife

Hold on, dear Baby, no matter what

Keep growing in body and mind

Till the time is right for your entry

Into this big world unkind

Once out, you can teach a thing or two

To your duffer father and mother.

Show them you're as vital to them

As they are to each other.
