Himani Shivpuri and the producers of the new reality show Saas v/s Bahu on SaharaOne had a fallout recently.
Apparently, the actress lost her cool and started hurling abuses. Himani is a senior artiste known to be professional and rather low-profile. So what really happened? "It is true that there was an argument that occurred on the sets," confirms Himani.
She explains her side of the story: "The first episode was a major disaster. I have been shooting for two other shows simultaneously and so was very busy. The designer of the show, Rohit Verma, kept sending me these absolutely incompetent assistants with the dress and I kept telling them I didn't like their work and they should get me a better dress. I even drew them a sketch and asked them to make it that way. The day before the shoot, I came in for a dress rehearsal and even there I saw they gave me the same costume. Again I told them that I would not wear this stuff. I explained very clearly that I don't have a figure like Aishwarya Rai and neither do I look like any of the commercial contemporary heroines. Give me something that suits me.
But on the day of the shoot, when I discovered that inspite of telling them so much, the dress had not been re-done, it psyched me off. Then to add to the agony, they started giving me some weird combinations. All this led to a delay and the producers started blaming me for it and all this led to an argument. After a lot of reasoning, we have sort of worked out on some settlement."
So is everything fine now? "I am a very professional person and when I give a commitment I stick to it. I told them better care should be taken in future so as to avoid any bitterness seeping in," she says. Well, in these reality times, one can never tell what is genuine and what is staged. But, yes, after hearing Himani we did get a feeling that 'the fight' wasn't a publicity stunt.
