For the first time Abhishek Bachchan will be seen exclusively on the small screen in a music video that promotes his latest film Bluffmaster. And for the first time, Bachchan Jr will sing the title track to the video.
The song 'Right Here Now' has been conceived by music director Vishal Shekhar, and directed by Farha Khan. "I am excited," says Abhishek.
"Rohan (Sippy) is a very dear friend of mine, so when he came up with the idea of making a music video for his film Bluffmaster I was kicked about it. But when he wanted me to sing the song, I was slightly sceptical. I think I have done a fairly okay job with the track, though," he say.
His father, Amitabh Bachchan, has lent his voice to a couple of films in the past (not to mention his own music album), and it is obvious that people will draw comparisons between the two.
"It doesn't bother me any more. I've started living with the idea that people will compare me with Pa and that's natural. He is the biggest star and it's an honour to be compared with a man like him," he says.
The film is produced by Ramesh Sippy's R S Entertainment, and the song will be aired on December 1.
Incidentally, Abhishek made Farah listen to the song in New York, while shooting for Karan Johar's Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna. Farah Khan, who loved the song, offered to direct the video for it.
They shot non-stop and finished the video in Film City. "I took a break from the shooting of the film, and wrapped up the video in two days. It was really hectic, but I enjoyed it," says Abhishek.
The song pictures Abhishek with four hot models – Carol Gracias, Pia Trivedi, Scherzade Shroff, and Anchal Kumar. Farah also made Priyanka Chopra, Reteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, and Vishal Shekhar sashay to the tune.
The track has already hit the air waves, and has become popular on the charts. "I am not sure if we will use it in the film or not, but this is a unique way to promote your product," says director Rohan, who might include the song in the end credits.
