Sikander Kher
Son of popular actors Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher, Sikander proved his acting prowess in Woodstock Villa. Anupam and Kirron did all that they could to get their son a successful launch.
Being closely related with the Bachchans, Sikander was also promoted by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Though most critics gave thumbs up to the film, it failed to create much impact at the box office.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika could not have asked for a better launch than Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om.
She got to work with King Khan in her very first movie itself, which all newcomers dream of. She was much appreciated in the film for her acting skills. The film went on to be a huge hit raking in a lot of moollah worldwide.
Ranbir Kapoor
Coming from the Kapoor khandaan, it came as a surprise to see Ranbir being launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Saawariya.
Though the film failed to do well, he received many positive reviews for his portrayal of the lovesick singer. He will soon be seen in the Yash Raj film Bachna Ae Haseeno romancing three hotties.
Sonam Kapoor
Coming from a filmy background, a lot was expected from Sonam. And she even lived up to the expectations by giving an impressive performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya.
Father Anil Kapoor made sure that her daughter got the perfect start. Unfortunately, the film failed to do well at the box office. But the gal managed to impress directors and will soon be seen in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6.
Imran Khan
Backed by actor Aamir Khan, director Mansoor Khan and director-producer Nasir Hussain, Imran Khan sort of cake-walked his way into hearts through his debut, Jaane Tu …Ya Jaane Na.
The producer of the film Aamir Khan left no stone unturned to promote the film and his nephew. It bore fruits as the film was received well by the audience and the critics. Imran did well as an actor and portrayed the role of a college kid with excellence.
Harman Baweja
Being part of a huge budget film which was set partly in the year 2050, a lot was expected from Love Story 2050. But the film failed miserably at the box office.
Harman's performance had a Hrithik hangover which worked in his favour up to a second extent. He has managed to impress quite a few directors, one of them being Ashutosh Gowarikar who has signed him for his next film What's Your Rashi.
Mimoh Chakraborty
Son of great dancer and actor Mitun Chakraborty, Mimoh Chakraborty made his debut with Jimmy.
In spite of Mithun's efforts to launch his son well, the film was a major flop. Mimoh has not been traceable since the film's release.
Adhyayan Suman
Son of Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman made his debut with Anil Devgan's Haal-e-Dil.
The film was a major flop and Adhyayan also regretted doing the film later. But the actor will soon be seen in Raaz 2. The Bhatts also plan to re-launch him in a big way with another film

Nikhil Dwivedi had a major launch with My Name is Anthony Gonsalves with Shah Rukh Khan supporting him.
Shah Rukh helped him to get in the film industry. But unfortunately the film did not work. Now Nikhil will be seen in Khalbali Hai Khalbali.
