Introduction - "Kuchh Is Tara' will be counted as one of the best shows that I have made," said Ekta Kapoor at the launch of Sony's show a year back. But, if the latest grapevine is to be believed, the show is going off air.
Kuch Is Tarah the new age love story on Sony Entertainment was started by Balaji Telefilms in November 2007. The latest buzz is that the serial may be going off air this October. When the show was kick starting, Ekta Kapoor stated, "I have put my heart into this show. Kuchh Is Tara' will be counted as one of the best shows that I have made. It is a turning point in my career and is completely different from all my work till date. With this show I have broken all norms of daily soaps. There is no melodrama, no extended family and not too many twists. The story revolves around a happy family, lots of light moments, love and sweet romance."
When we contacted the channel spokesperson, they stated, "Everything is on schedule for the moment." Balaji creative head, Nivedita Basu, stated more or less the same.
But an inside source at the channel, on condition of anonymity stated, "The show is very dear to Ekta. She controls the happenings of the show. And, we were shocked when she came in one day and pulled the plug on the show."
The source justified Ekta's action by stating, "It's a love story. How much can you drag it?" To which our question was is Kambaqth Ishq, a campus love story slotted to go in place? There are a lot of shows in the pipeline. Kuch Is Tarah is slated to go off only by November. Talking to the lead star cast of the show had us running against a dead end.
