Amitabh suffering from colitis: Doctors

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who was admitted to Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai, is said to be suffering from colitis, according to hospital sources.

The 63-year-old actor underwent various tests since Monday and 'he is suffering from inflammation in the colon or the large intestine', the hospital spokesperson Dr Narendra Trivedi said. However, he is stable, Trivedi said, adding that the family doctor Dr Jayant Barve will examine him on Tuesday night and then decide whether the treatment will be given in the hospital or at home.

Bachchan has been kept under observation and will be resting in the hospital, the sources said. The actor was first admitted to Escorts hospital in Delhi from where he was flown in to Mumbai on Monday evening.
