We saw a flash back where Nitya told Aman that she is having a baby and wants an termination. Then Amam is in the hospital taking the baby. We then see maynank crying with nitya as they were informed that baby was still born.

Looks like the family knew her first child was still born and Kavya was the replacement child of maynank's lover.
