Sharad Malhotra on "Banoo Main Teri Dulhann" |
Revealing it all Sharad Malhotra
"I want to shoot her between the eyes! and thus end the series of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann," says Sharad Malhotra aka Amar of his badi maa in the serial that is being aired on Zee for past one and a half year. He is in Delhi to promote the family drama that revolves largely around Amar, Divya and Sindoora. Hinting at the big twist in the tale that's on its way, the shining actor from Punjab, winner of the Zee Cine Star ki Khoj (East Zone) confides, "I can't say much, but it's really something big coming up. Evil will be put to an end but only after a few turns, we need to build up the climax. They found my idea a bit too creative," he laughed.
Talk of the chemistry he shares with Divyanka Tripathi, playing his wife in the serial and Sharad is all praise for her, "I have very few friends in the industry, she is one of them. We both are equally crazy. We don't rehearse before the take and it is actually the spontaneity maybe that clicks. From the first day, we have been called the number one couple on stage." Ask about real life and he smiles, "we are very good friends."
SRK fanSharad came to Mumbai to meet Shah Rukh Khan, the man he idolises and looks forward to talk at length, no wonder he wants to play Raj of Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jayenge, movie he has watched over 50 times! "I never planned my acting career. I wanted to become Sachin Tendulkar, was about to play in Ranji trophy when this Zee cine star happened. Whatever I plan, never takes shape, so I better not plan my wedding," Sharad giggles. For those looking forward to it, the girls he likes are simple kudis who are great at cooking (since he is a big foodie) and have an understanding of the profession, besides being cool about working erratic hours.
Banoo Main… has already seen a leap of 15 years, a punarjanam of the couple who turned from Sagar Pratap Singh, a mentally challenged boy of royal family to Amar, a Banarasi fun loving man and Vidya, a simple girl to rich Divya who is able to recall the first janam and its end by the hands of Sindoora. Amar is in a fix whether to believe her or Sindoora.
"I can't recall my previous janam but yes! I have heard shocking stories, there has to be something, I believe" says Sharad, who accepted the influence of Bollywood on television, (the punarjanam twist came right at the time Om Shanti Om was released) and says he really enjoys doing the song and dance episodes.
Is the mysterious twist again inspired from some Hindi movie? Sharad is not ready to say much, "This time you can expect something original from our creative team. We are working hard keeping in mind what the audiences want to see."
