Rucha's big screen debut - Article

Riding on the popularity that she gained from her last shows, Kkusum, Bhabhi, and Rihhae, the petite actress Rucha Gujarathi gladly reveals that she will soon be seen in Saas Vs Bahu, a reality show on SaharaOne.

Ask her why she gave her nod to a reality show and she says, "I think reality shows are doing well. They have captivated the television industry and TRPs speak about their growing popularity. I have always been fond of dancing and immediately said yes to this dance-based reality show which will be on air soon."

The actress also maintains that she consciously stays away from taking on too many shows at the same time. She says, "I believe in taking up one role at a time so that the dates for the shows do not clash. Also, I don't want to end up feeling drained out and burdened with work."

Rucha also says that she is very choosy about her roles, "I keep looking forward to do a variety of roles. As an actor, you need to portray roles that take you on a learning trip. If, for a corporate professional the ladder to success is a promotion, for an actor, it is getting different roles."

Rucha who has done a course in Medical Laboratory Technology says, "Once you are bitten by the glamour bug, you want to stay back. I chose to be a part of it."

Rucha will be making her silver screen debut with the movie Lottery, where she stars opposite Abhijeet Sawant. What is the film all about? "It is a romantic thriller and I play a girl-next-door," says she. "Now that the film will be out soon, I can reveal that my dream role is the one played by Rani in Black," she adds.
