Amisha drops her family surname

Bollywood actress Amisha Patel has taken another drastic step after breaking up with her long-time boyfriend Vikram Bhatt. This may come in as a surprise for many but it's true that the actress has dropped her surname 'Patel'. She wanted her name to appear as Amisha in the credit titles of her latest film Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.

Director of the film Kunal Kohli revealed that Amisha wanted her name to appear without her family surname. He added that it must be because of some numerological reason. Amisha's mother Asha Patel is not aware of it and so too is her brother Ashmit Patel.

It may be recalled that Amisha broke off all ties with her parents Amit and Asha Patel a few years ago over monetary issues. She alleged that her parents misused her funds and even went to the court asking them to return her money.

Recently, her parents said that they would welcome their daughter, who had split with Vikram Bhatt, thus breathing some hope of reunion. However, the estranged daughter is still in no mood to return to her family. In fact, she has worsened the ties but dropping her surname 'Patel'.

But Amisha should know that she is the daughter of her parents. That is one thing she can never change!
