Actually, this is a law in India

Since there's a huge problem with dahej/dowry and in-laws ill treating their bahu's because of money

Women have a 7 year grace period after their marriege.

Which means that any woman can claim that thier in-laws abused them, and the in-laws will instantly be arrested. In the first 7 years, they take the woman's word as proof.

It protects a lot of women.

So Trupti used that to her advantage. Or else, if Vaidehi claims that the family tried to burn her, they will all instantly be put behind bars

Whatt he police did worng was not listen to Vaidehi completely.

All Vaidehi could say was that the oil fell from Ganga and Tulsi's hands, and after that Trupti didn't let her speak. Or else, if Vaidehi would have said it was an accident and they didnt mean to do it, the cop had no reason to arrest them. The cop didn't let Vaidehi complete her statement

wow, that's really great law in India.. but not too great in this situation in a fictional show. I can't even imagine all the help victims in real life are getting in real life.

hey thanks for the information, this is really useful. but isn't this law a bit too much. what if the women hate the in-laws and just want to put them behind bars or give them punishments or maybe the women just wanted to give them a difficult time???

The law protects lots of women from harassment. In that sense it is good. But there have been reported cases in which some women misused these laws.
