A lot of Hindi speaking actors go South to make movies, not to mention other parts of India to do regional cinema. Punjabi, Malayam, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali are a few languages that appear to be very popular these days.
Even actors who aren't familiar with Hindi as a first language regularly "go South" to test their fortunes.
Is everyone being dubbed over? Apparently it's quite common for a newcomer to make their foray into the glamour world by doing regional cinema, which pays well and is highly respected, but do they fake the dialogue through shooting to have a skilled artist dub over their entire parts?
I know this also happens in Hindi cinema, I just think it's wierd...how do they understand their scripts? emote? I can't just go blah, blah, blah and hope I react to the right stuff...š
I'm very confused, someone please clear this debate for me!
