Rannvijay takes to the road again after Roadies 5.0. This time around, he is accompanying 20 girls slugging it out for the affections of two eligible guys. Look out for this weekly column every Saturday

I find relationships fascinating. I'm a strong believer in love and all that crap. But I still find it amazing how two people from species so different from each other get together and make it work.

Plus, love can be really twisted. On the surface, relationships are about two people being in love with each other. But if you scratch the surface a little, you'll find a lot of other strong emotions. Jealousy.

Insecurity. Frustration. They're all part of being in love. There are so many things that can go wrong in relationships that it's a wonder people make the effort at all. But they do. That's what I love about love.

Relationships and falling in love is the subject of my new reality show after Roadies. Take young, hot people, put them in one hell of a romantic setting, make it easy for them to feel attracted but near impossible to make it work, explore the twisted side of love, take the Roadies approach of complete and honest reality and make all of these things have mad monkey sex with each other, and voila! SPLITSVILLA is born!

This is what I'm currently shooting in sunny, romantic Goa. Splitsvilla is a villa we've created, where 2 boys and 20 girls will play the game of love! Why 20 girls?

In most relationships, the woman has the power. From approaching a hot chick to wining and dining her, to wooing her, buying her gifts, etc, the pressure's normally on the boys. I really wanted to see what'd happen if we turned the balance of power on its head. And from what I've seen so far, its great fun!
The two boys in question are both friends, and ex-Roadies. Varun, got voted out in the first episode itself, came back in Bangkok, and got voted out again! He's so far been unlucky in love too. As everyone who's seen his Roadies audition knows, his last girlfriend was simultaneously seeing 14 other boys! Now here's a guy with a chip-on-shoulder, axe-to-grind syndrome!

The other guy is Vishal from Roadies 4. With conventional chocolate-boy looks, he's been a chick magnet ever since he walked into Roadies with his trademark smile. Since then, he's gone to the US and become a pilot, further enhancing his eligibility. He claims to be a committed, one-woman guy, and has recently broken up with his long-time girlfriend. What can I say… her loss is the gain of 20 girls.

The show is replete with tasks and competitions that help the lucky buggers judge the girls on all the qualities they would look for in their girlfriend. Should look good, have a good body, should be sexy, smart, interesting, and have a passion for adventure too. Tall order, eh!

Based on their performance in the competitions, some girls are put in the dumping zone. These girls then get a second chance, which is a romantic date where they can use their charms to seduce the boys. Or at least get their attention. The girls that are unable to make a good enough connection with the boys, get dumped by them in the Dumping Ground at the end of every episode. Now mind you, this is no ordinary elimination… this is getting dumped by not one, but two boys at the same time on national television. BUHUHAHAHAHA (evil laughter)!!
