and then i taled u that i'll bring u about sharad so here u are😉:

Malhotra (Hindi: ????????, Punjabi: ???????) is a Khatri family surname originating from the Punjab region of the Indian Subcontinent, today straddling India and Pakistan and is common with both Hindu and Sikh families.

The Malhotras belong to the KshatriyaVarna (the princely military order in Vedic society).

Along with the Khanna and Kapur clans, the Mehra/Malhotra clan forms the Dhai Gar(which means 2 1/2 families), in the Kshatriya Khatri clan hierarchy.

The Malhotras are Kshatriya from North India.

In current times, the Malhotra clan, in line with their Kshatriya origins, plays a prominent role in the Indian Armed Forces, where they form the top brass in the Indian Army and to a lesser extent the Navy and Air Force.

hope u enjoyed reading😉😛

Hey tenkoo tenkoo. 😊

But that still doesn't really clears if Sharad's Punjabi or Bengali.

Because it's just like the Singh's. They're common in Punjab. But they're also in Mumbai or so...
For example...only fictional now...Sagar Pratap Singh. He should be hindu. And not from Punjab.

But my surname's Singh too, and I'm sick. 😉

yeah I think his family settled in Bebgal years ago. Originally from Punjab, but they settled in Bengal for generations. My Dad's story is different. My Dadaji got a job offer in Bhopal, and they ended up staying there. My Dad and all of his brothers and sisters were born in Bhopal, but always went to visit their Tayaji and extended family in Punjab. Now everyone lives all over the place.
My family didn't settle too long outside of their orgins. We are the execption we came to the Unites States. I was born here.

Traveling has become more easier in the last several years, so people travel more often and more further.
Sometimes it's hard to tell where they are originally from.

in the Punjabi way (which is a bit easier....)
there are three types of Punjabi's ranks - popularity
1./ First - Jatt Sikh (me) They are farmers. Pure Sikhs
2./ Second - Shehar Sikhs - Live in cities. Pure Sikhs
3./ Third - Hindu Punjabi - Live in Punjabi, Believe in Guru Nanak Dev Ji, also worship Durga Mata....

there, that's my way of putting it. we rank our selves this way, to make it easier... haha, I could easily read Malhotra in Punjabi 😛

Hope that helped a bit more!
